The Unified Ted Cruz Blame Theory Goes Up in Flames

It is already setting in as received wisdom among liberals both within the Republican party and without that Ted Cruz will be made to shoulder the blame for the nominations the Democrats rammed through the Senate this week. A good example of that comes from the arbiter of objective fairness to conservative Republicans, the New York Times:

snip

Nevertheless, it’s at least possible to believe that not withstanding Reid’s promises, the Republicans might have been able to run out the clock on the year. Fine, I was willing to suspend judgment on that point, until now. It turns out, the Senate wrapped up business late last night and have now gone home for the year.

So let’s do a little math. It’s a matter of historical fact that the Cruz-Lee point of order bought Reid ten hours worth of floor time on Saturday. Given that Reid was able to wrap up the session last night, what you would have to believe is that Reid would have let over two dozen important nominees just die for the sake of going home Tuesday instead of Wednesday or Thursday.

The thing about the old Parties is that they are still playing by the rules of 40 years ago.

They think they can get “their message” out and it will be the only one.

It’s why they continue to look very stupid and say stupid things.

If you read nothing else in this article read THIS:

"... Harry Reid promised repeatedly and publicly before the Cruz-Lee point of order that he would keep the Senate open as long as necessary to confirm the nominations."

Take that Charles Krauthammer, former conservative.

Uniparty blames Cruz for EVERYTHING.

I couldn’t think of a better populist setup for the 2016 win.

The theory is irrational; Cruz would have opposed the nominations, would have been told he was being “extreme,” and the RINOs would have approved the nominations anyway.

That argument about Cruz and Lee was so damn stupid to start with, it had to be cobbled together by both Rat and Rino leadership.

Cruz is the Uniparty's biggest fear.

The nominations don’t matter anyway. Valerie Jarrett and the inner circle in the White House are developing policy and calling the shots. These appointed officials are figureheads reading from the teleprompter and carrying out Jarrett’s orders.

Unless the Republicans are going to impeach or cut off funding business will continue as usually no matter who sits in these appointed positions. All of the whining by the GOPe about Cruz is posturing to show the media they are “good guys” as well as let their Chamber of Commerce buddies know they aren’t wacko birds.

It is time for a third party. Cruz, Lee, Palin, West, Carson, Walker, Tim Scott, and a few others should split from the GOP and form a Liberty party. McConnell and Boehner will either have to come to terms with them and form a coalition in the House and Senate or let Reid and Pelosi take charge. We’ve reached the point where conservatives have more power outside the party than inside. Boehner, McConnell, the Bush family, McCain, Romney, Rove, and the rest of the GOPe have declared war on conservatives. Either fight or die.

I find it laughable that the kool-aid drinkers of the GOPE rotgut still think the new senate is going to oppose obama’s nominees, especially the judicial nominees. Had Reid not rammed them through the GOPE senate would have approved them anyway. Oh how the GOPE loves to attack conservatives almost as much as taxing and spending.

Cruz, patriots love him.

I don't know if I qualify as a patriot (I hope I do), and it says right here that I don't love him. I sure do want him to run for President, though. He's the only one to try a balloon to date that I can get enthusiastic regarding.

Dr. K. is pretty conservative. I think there needs to be a calming down on both sides on this issue between Cruz and Dr. K. Both are good people.

A week ago I would have agreed with you. But no longer.

Kraut hammer’s effective support for the GOPe is deal killer for me. He could easily change my mind if I see a turn-around on Cruz. I don’t expect it. Dr. K is going to try to push us down the same old path that has given us one popular vote victory in the last 6 Presidential elections and the last true Republican President elected 30 years ago.
