Dept of Education to Schools: Let Students Choose if They Are Boy or Girl, Even for Sex Ed Classes

In single-sex classes, which are common for sex education, students must be allowed to go to the class of the gender they consider themselves to be rather than their actual gender, the U.S. Department of Education directed schools that receive federal funds in a Dec. 1 memo.

The memo, from the department's Office for Civil Rights, provides guidance for K-12 schools for when they are allowed to have same-sex classes or extracurricular activities and remain in compliance with Title IX, a 1972 law to protect against gender discrimination in education programs that get federal aid.

Schools may divide students by gender, the memo says, if the course or extracurricular activity is a contact sport or deals with human sexuality. Vocational classes are not allowed to be gender-specific.

Near the end of the document, a paragraph explains how schools must treat male students who consider themselves female and female students who consider themselves male.

"All students, including transgender students and students who do not conform to sex stereotypes," it states, "are protected from sex-based discrimination under Title IX. Under Title IX, a recipient generally must treat transgender students consistent with their gender identity in all aspects of the planning, implementation, enrollment, operation, and evaluation of single-sex classes."

Private religious schools do not appear to be affected by the memo. Another part of the memo clarifies that the requirement applies to all public schools and the few private schools that receive some federal aid.

Additionally, the U.S. Department of Education has previously demonstrated a willingness to grant exemptions to religious institutions in regard to accommodating transgender students.

In July, the Education Department granted a religious exemption from Title IX to George Fox University after a female to male transgender student, Jayce Marcus, filed a complaint after she was not allowed to reside in the male dorms.

Let Students Choose what could go wrong with that logic.
Remember hire a teenager while they still know everything.

Just a single example of metastasis in government regulations. When Title IX was written (1972), few, if any, of the lawmakers and regulators could have envisioned how far from the original (already quite radical) intent of the law to legislate gender equality in education.

Once institutionalized, the law becomes the domain of the equity proponents who, as the gross errors get ‘fixed’, seek ever more extreme solutions. Like other open-ended agenda laws (EPA for example), there is no legal end for their mission and with the amazing expansion of the legal definitions of gender, this can of worms becomes an amazing mess.

A transgender person is a mentally ill person. It is called Gender Confusion just as homosexuality is Sexual Disorientation.

The Dept. of "Education" needs to approach this as a psychiatric problem, not something to be encouraged.

If a child expresses he wants to murder people, do we step away and give him a gun to encourage them?

Whoever these people are in the DoD need to be removed from their positions immediately. They need to be fired.

Get your children out of government schools. They are recruitment centers for perverts who need younger flesh to ravish. Fight for your children’s right to be normal human beings that God has made male and female.

Children need to grow and develop management of what they are endowed with, not be crippled by a wish to not grow and question their very birth. This is liberal plantation genocide and liberals will pay sooner rather than later for their games.

LOL! I think that is determined by God at the person’s birth.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

Parents who turn to private humanist schools should know that they are liberal and doing this kind of child abuse as well. Make sure they get no government grants and if you ask the wrong questions they won’t allow your children to enroll. They only want wealthy liberal parents.

Even Christian and Catholic schools have to be thoroughly investigated.

We ended up home schooling the kid until high school. He thought all the gender stuff was absolutely retarded. I had told him it was mental illness that some people suffer when they want to be the opposite sex of what they are. He should feel compassion for them because they have a hard and short life and are often very needy, angry and mean.

He also was taught that his personal life was no one’s business, made him aware of adult homosexual predators. I told him not to participate in sex surveys, sex discussions, etc., that male or female pervert teachers were involved in. He was to quietly observe the freak show and not participate. I was not worried because he was solid in our world view, happy and knew himself. He was more a peer pack leader than follower.

I didn't run into that with my 44 years in education. But, educating one's children is always a unique experience to each family.

I'm delighted that you brought up your children in such a good way. I'm sure that your efforts will tide him over for all his life.
