A 22 year old Israeli Jewish man was stabbed Tuesday morning (roughly 2:00 am EST) in Crown Heights, outside the Chabad-Lubavitch building at 770 Eastern Parkway in New York City.
The man’s condition is defined as stable, but serious; he was reportedly stabbed in the neck. The public has been asked to pray for him; his Hebrew name is Levy Yitzhak ben Raizel.
Police arrived at the scene and apprehended the perpetrator, now revealed to have been a 40-year old African American man. He may have also been Muslim, but this has yet to be confirmed. The attacker died after being shot by police as he was being treated for his injuries at Kings County Hospital.
One witness told the New York Daily News that (he) was muttering, “I will kill the Jew, I want to kill the Jew.” …

I understand where you are coming from there. Ideally, there should be no such phrase as "hate crime" in the law books. If a crime happens to be motivated by hate, it should be considered as an exacerbating factor at sentencing after conviction.
But in the real world, in the New York criminal code, "hate crime" is a legitimate term, and that's what I was referring to. Unfortunately, unless this dead perp had friends who aided him in this, we will never see a legal proceeding in this case where the motivation will be made public.

Wow, you are stupid on so many levels.
Assuming this Hasidic man was an American citizen (a large assumption, although there are plenty of dual citizens such as myself), statistically upwards of 80% dual Israeli/USA citizens vote Republican. It’s so consistent that the Democrats routinely try to interfere with absentee ballots from Israel.
Adding on top of that, the fact the man was Hasidic, which is also a consistent Republican voting bloc (so much so that part of NYC has a Republican Congressman), the possibility of the victim voting Obama is far less than the possibility that you are a Democrat troll posting here.

Thx for the info, I knew that some Jewish areas are more likely to be conservatives, of course a liberal could go to this area and more then likely the person they attack would be just such a person, conservative.

DUH. He is an ISRAELI. What would he be doing voting in U.S. elections? It’s not like he’s an illegal from a turd world country. And being a religious Jew, it’s a no brainer that he votes conservative.
I lived in Crown Heights for years. Voted for Giuliani every chance I got. Voted Republican in Presidential elections since 1988, prior to which I wrote in Candidates. Only Dem I ever voted for was McCall, simply because Pataki didn’t deserve to be Governor any more, and I didn’t want his victory to be too big a mandate for Seinfeldian politics.

Maybe he attacked the Jewish doctor who was treating him at Kings County, and the police just had to shoot him again, ending his lie at an even greater expense to the taxpayers of NYC. If only the first officer who shot him had sprayed a little gray, he would have died at a fraction of the cost.
To all of you who don’t know about Brooklyn!!! Crown Heights-nabe both black (mostly West Indian) and Hasidic Jewish. Forget about riots that happened during David Dinkins era. Groups live fairly separately. I am not giving this as an excuse for the stabbing. No one should get stabbed, shot, beaten or raped—except if they’re a thug trying to rob something and person is acting in self defense (we’ll leave the rape one out of the equation). Animosity is still high between blacks and Hasids. Hasids have huge families—eight, nine ten kids isn’t odd for them. They want to buy every available building in the neighborhood so they can still participate in their community life. These are the Lubovitch Hasids (as to opposed to the Satmars in Williamsburg, and smaller groups in Boro Park—two other nabes in Brooklyn) Many blacks are pissed off that they can’t get housing in the nabe because the Hasids are buying everything up. Many times the Hasidic way of doing business is underhanded —especially doing business with the goys (gentiles). So, just a little background on animosity.
