would someone please tell me where in the US (outside of a
racetrack)could a driver EVER, EVER uncork that beast?

And if you can’t drive it at full tilt — why have it?

Especially given what the beast costs.

Some folks enjoy being in a traffic jam, creeping along at 2 or 3 mph, in a car that has 500 horsepower.

If you’ve got money to burn, it’s a great car. Overall not that many will be sold IMO. I could be wrong on that, but I doubt it.

It is an amazing car.

Just the engineering of the thing is amazing. 0 to 60 in 2.4 seconds... LOL

Difference of perspective I suppose. I have much better things to spend that much money on, and a car is simply transportation from a to b to c to . . . and back.
I never thought of a vehicle as a toy or plaything.

It must just be me.

It depends on what you use it for. I drive 160 miles a day on my commute through the back roads of Kentucky and I-65. I got an FRS with a manual six speed and it fits the bill perfectly. It handles like a go-cart and the stereo connects to my phone with bluetooth and has a thumb drive port where I plug in various sticks depending on what I wish to listen to.

It makes my commute interesting and fun, every single day. This is it parked next to my stream. It's just enough without being too much. On a side note, when I "hypermile" I can pull in 39-40 mpg, but it's normally around 32.

It matters a great deal for me.
