President Obama has “destroyed” immigration enforcement in the U.S., Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) concluded Friday in reaction to the release of new Department of Homeland Security data.
DHS data obtained by The Los Angeles Times reveal that last year’s total deportations represented the lowest of Obama’s presidency, despite a surge of illegal immigration at the border.
The decrease in deportations included a 23 percent decline in interior removals since last year and represented fewer than half the interior deportations since 2011, when then-ICE Director John Morton issued the infamous Morton Memos placing restrictions on immigration enforcement.
According to Sessions, the DHS figures are “scandalous.”
“The effective result of the Administration’s non-enforcement policy is that anyone in the world who manages to get into the interior of the United States—by any means, including overstaying a visa—is free to live, work, and claim benefits in the United States at Americans’ expense,” Sessions said in a statement Friday. “Again: this is the result of lawless orders issued by this Administration.”
The Alabama lawmaker noted that “[s]o total is the collapse of enforcement” that even people apprehended crossing the border illegally have been simply released into the interior of the U.S.

Deportations come mostly from border, DHS chief says (Wash Times 3/12/14):
"Republican critics have argued those deportation numbers are artificially inflated because more than half of those being deported were new arrivals, caught at the border by the U.S. Border Patrol. Previous administrations primarily counted only those caught in the interior of the U.S. by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement."

It Is Time For The Congress To Re-establish it’s constitutional authority
While the talkies, talk radio show hosts, need to remind “US” of this.. Members of the House and Senate also seem to forget. While those selected to head various federal departments of government are recomended by the incomming POTUS (president of the United States).
Such candidates are constitutionaly required to be approved by the Senate in a procedure known as advise and consent.. Those appointed then are also sworn to uphold, protect,serve, and support the constitution. Not the executive branch. .
Such appointees can and should refuse any executive order.Or allow the executive branch create a political appointee who over rides their congressional authority. Particularly. If and when that executive order is designed to ignore existing congressional legislation which defines a departments jurisdiction or specific purpose protecting the interests of the country . Which places the country in danger, or minimizes the value of citizenship, or places its citizens in clear and eminent danger.
Therefore they and their respective departments must be held answerable to both houses of congress which funds these operations. And, should be held in contempt, censure, and impeachment and the funds witheld if refused to comply.
Obama’s so call amnesty EO was nothing more than a call for more illegals to run for the border. His actual EOs ordered various agencies to facilitate illegal border crossers.
Impeach. Remove. Rinse. Repeat.
