Earlier this week, American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten took time out of her busy workday for each of which she receives a princely $1,380 or so to warn America that Walmart is selling delicious ham for Hanukkah (at the low, low price of $6.29 per pound).
Really Walmart? Ham for Hanukah? Weingarten wrote in a Dec. 2 Facebook post.

LOL! Sorry, I just found this funny. First her immediate belief that wally mart would actually do this, and secondly her posting it on her FB page. Look who ain't so "super sophisticated" now.

Randi doesn’t have time for representing teachers or fact-checking. Spending the dues money of hard working teachers in such lavish amounts on herself is a full-time job.
To: Paine in the Neck
This is either a hoax or a prank. Walmart marketing might be redneck but they are not stupid.

I think she (stupidly) was taking them to task for selling Hanukkah hams cause she knows that it just ain’t right. I believe she hails from the Island of Moronica.

I once told a young woman that my favorite meat was Kosher ham. Actually, I joke about it from time to time when discussing oxymorons.
So, she comes back from her wedding all angry at me and sez that since there were going to be some orthodox jews at her wedding she looked all over for kosher ham before it sunk in that there is no such thing.
:-D

A retailer did offer Delicious for Chanukah hams back in 2007. It wasnt Walmart, though. It was at Balduccis, a (now-closed) snooty market in New York City, quite close to where Weingarten grew up.LOL! We used to get Balducci's catalog in the mail, but never thought we could afford anything from it.

That might fly with the Reform crowd, a cultural-Judaism group. That is some weird theology.

This is either a hoax or a prank. Walmart marketing might be redneck but they are not stupid.Of course it is. I should have made clearer that I was referring to Weingarten, not rktman.

This is what happens when you have hair trigger outrage and no intellectual safety. Some of that is genetic but we are SUPPOSED to control our "dark side" with moral absolutes, family/school/life training and common sense.
We are SUPPOSED to learn that in our "formative years" which are NOT supposed to last until our 20's-60's.
To: Nifster
Shes the head of a teachers union....nuff saidSo true! SHUDDER!
