A Navy engineer was arrested and charged Friday with attempting to steal plans for the Navy's most advanced aircraft carrier, now under construction at Newport News Shipbuilding.
Mostafa Ahmed Awwad, 35, a York County, Va., resident who worked at Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Virginia, was indicted on two counts of attempted exportation of defense articles and technical data, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Dana J. Boente. If convicted, he faces a maximum of 20 years in prison on each count.
Awwad intended to send the schematics to Egypt, authorities said.
Court documents describe a saga that included an FBI undercover agent posing as an Egyptian intelligence officer, a clandestine meeting in Sandy Bottom Nature Park in Hampton, a prearranged "dead drop" along a secluded hiking trail and Awwad's alleged intention to wear a pinhole camera to photograph classified material.
During one meeting with the undercover agent, he "discussed where to strike the vessel with a missile in order to sink it," an affidavit states.

Just another fun-loving, loyal moozlum. Just why would anyone hire any moozlum...especially in a security field? PC insanity and traitorous.
The FReeper weight loss plan...
Not yet.
I don't know...
I was thinking Scotch Irish, or MAYBE German. That German angle could have possibilities. We brought in lots of talented Germans after the war. His grandfather probably came in under 'Operation Paperclip'. I bet that's it!
All of our Nuclear tests are done by “simulating” them on computers. lol
Hypothetical testing!
The same folks that did healthcare[dot]gov developed the testing platforms.
How on earth do these people get into the service in the first place?
I recall getting together for the holidays with an old HS buddy - on leave from the Army. This was around 1980 and he was involved with communications and electronics. His Mom answered the phone and handed it to him. “Some old friend” of his was calling. He answered, chuckled and told the guy to get lost.
He told us they’d been briefed on and warned not to fall for stuff like this. He also said it may well have been someone testing to see if he’d take the bait.
I hope he bought a lot of film. I figured this would be some kind of electronic theft attempt with several hands-full of thumb drives. I'm sure there is sensitive stuff printed out or on screen... But can you fathom how big the build/drawing/spec package is for an aircraft carrier?
Obviously they weren't going to go after all of it, not via this means. I don't think the plans for things like the enlisted mess, nor the officer's crapper, would be classified.
It would be really, really interesting to know what they were interested in, what components they wanted him to provide... That would actually help us, tell us something about their programs/projects, and where they think they are relative to ours...
Another friend of the enemy islamist in the White House.
If you read the article you find out that the FBI was the actual end destination of the classified material since the FBI set him up. Probably a loyalty test they do once in awhile.
True, but nobody else should be testing them in real tests as well.
The main point is that we have an old inventory. Russian’s and Chinese weapons are much newer. Weapons of this type deteriorate over time, and there is no way to predict how exactly in order to prevent a dud, no matter how we might try.
We had a plan to build a robust new warhead. More reliable, secure.
Unfortunately, no matter how logical, the political climate today would prefer our possible inability to deter and defend against a nuclear attack, then to be so bold as our potential nuclear armed enemies.
Almost. Give em another ten years.
We see it as a sign of strength allowing multiculturalism in the military, the enemy sees it as weakness.
“But can you fathom how big the build/drawing/spec package is for an aircraft carrier?”
Bigger than the Obama Care Bill?
“It would be really, really interesting to know what they were interested in ...”
The women’s showers?
Doesn’t sound like he was recruited (although he may have been), just some muslim smuck who wanted a few quick bucks, easy money so to speak.
You could be right.
Just doing the spying Patriotic Americans refuse to do!
No, the connections for the hidden cameras in the women’s showers...:)

Obama: “ Workplace Retailing”
Virginia resident, Mostafa Ahmed Awwad — media shills strike again with spin.
“Mostafa Ahmed Awwad” is obviously a Zionist infiltrator...
