For at least the third time on Fox - The Five, Dana Perino gives exclusive credit to breaking the Rathergate Hoax to her buddy, a Rob Bluey, then at the CNS Cybernews service, now at Heritage. He ran a story on the possible hoax on Thursday, the day after the Dan Rather 60 Minutes show on Wednesday. Yet he is taking credit and his buddy Perino continuously gives brags about his exclusive.
Does Buckhead owe Bluey and Perino and apology (/sarc)?

Rathergate has been rewitten even here in FR.

"MacDougald's initial Web posting on FreeRepublic.com, less than four hours after the Sept. 8 broadcast, said the font in the documents Rather used to show Bush had received preferential treatment in the military weren't typical of 1970s-era typewriters. "

A few hours earlier another alert Freeper had posted this just minutes after the CBS story aired. Already, the now obvious doubts about the Killian memos were raising a few eyebrows in the blogger community:
To: Howlin
WE NEED TO SEE THOSE MEMOS AGAIN!
They are not in the style that we used when I came in to the USAF. They looked like the style and format we started using about 12 years ago (1992). Our signature blocks were left justified, now they are right of center...like the ones they just showed.
Can we get a copy of those memos?

Agree. And, I'm not taking anything away from Buckhead.
To: Mount Athos
As I recall it, TankerKC was the one who raised the issue of the memos looking wrong - much too modern. And then Buckhead produced the image that showed they were the product of modern wordprocessing.

And I may be remembering that wrong. I just remember being quite amazed. I was still new here.

The effort on Freerepublic has saved the Republic more than once.
I am dead serious when I type that.
Jim Robinson, and a whole lot of freepers are heroes of the new media.
