The jobs that were created skewed heavily toward lower quality. Full-time jobs declined by 150,000, while part-time positions increased by 77,000.

I knew that as I listened to the anchor rapturously reporting it this morning.
Seasonal hiring means crappy paying part time temporary jobs in an economy currently producing nothing but crappy paying part time jobs.
Its common sense.

Taken in total, a peek beneath the hood of these numbers suggests a job market that still has a ways to go. A long way to go suggests it's going in the right direction. It isn't.

This is pretty much the standard pattern under any Democrat administration, although this one takes the cake.
- Some alphabet-soup agency releases statistical evidence that the economy is up, or anything else that puts the Democrat tricycle-riding President and his band of armed theoreticians in a good light...
- State-controlled MSM goes bonkers, shouting the news from every rooftop, making it the top story in every talking-heads panel discussion, etc....
- This goes on for one or two news cycles, until the next bread-and-circuses story comes out...
- After a couple of weeks, the Administration issues a "correction" that shows that the data is being "revised downward" or "revised upward" in such a way as to take away most if not all of whatever was encouraging about the original story...
- The "correction" is printed at the bottom of page DD19 of the New York Times, where no one notices.

Yeah I heard that crap from ABC (Always Be Covering for Obama) and knew it was a lie as soon as I heard it. To top it off they had a black news person report that segment of the news probably so it would be more believable to their base.

Yes seasonal hiring as I suspected. Come January they will all be laid off as usual.

Based on the data series cited in the article, there have been about 2.4 million full time jobs added year to date and there was an increase of over 1 million in September and October alone. When dealing with labor data, it is important to remember that (1) it is a survey, (2) the series cited here is highly volatile, (3) and the data is subject to revision. One should not focus on a single data point, but instead focus on the longer term trends.

Based on the data series cited in the article, there have been about 2.4 million full time jobs added year to date and there was an increase of over 1 million in September and October alone. If you're referring to the government monthly job creation numbers, that's not just for full time, but for part time, temp (not including holiday hiring), etc.
Of course, the job creation number of 321,000 released by the government clearly contradicts their own numbers for full time jobs lost and part time jobs gained.
