Governor Jay Nixon finally explained why he did not send the National Guard to Ferguson, Missouri. –We Didn’t want a Kent State situation.

On early Tuesday morning, November 25, 2014, Ferguson Mayor James Knowles told FOX 2 anchors that he had repeatedly requested the National Guard… But his requests were ignored.

“I know I’ve been on the phone in contact with the County Executive’s Office. I know he has requested. I am requesting. I’ve requested the National Guard troops to come out from their command post to help restore order along the business district. We have not seen that… Those calls have gone unheeded at this point… We need to have the governor step up and give us the resources that he’s promised from the beginning. He said he would have a strong response. The resources necessary would be provided. They have not been provided so far.“

BS

Kent State has been an educational element since it happened

NG's are trained (in part) in urban warfare/policing and another Kent State would not happen

Now obola's private army is an entirely different matter ... they are under no law

Reagan dealt with the hippies the best when he was governor.

He essentially told them they were full of BS and to stuff it.

Reagan had guts. Romney has looseleaf binders.

Yup, that's another reason our Founding Fathers were brilliant.

Doesn't matter...

Liberal playbook:

Military=Bad

Rioters=Good

“Democrats are funny.”

Funny in a mentally deficient (”Your mother and father were brother and sister”) sort of way.

Nixon’s an idiot but what I don’t understand is why everyone is complaining that he didn’t send the Guard into Ferguson after the grand jury announcement. The guard had been called up after Brown was shot in August and had not been sent into th rioting locations. And the civil disorder then was worse than it was following th failure to indict.

And by not sending troops Ferguson burns.

I’m not sure if Nixon is a coward, a genius or both.

From my memory and reading over Kent State....the continued riots and damage to downtown Kent over the month prior to the shooting, drove the Chancellor and Mayor to admit there was not enough regular cops on hand to protect business operations, the campus, or tax-payers. The governor agreed and posted the solders. If regular cops had been sent, the same exact incident would likely have occurred.

Rioters and looters are heroic, while military members are scumbags!

The gods of the copybook headings with terror and slaughter return.

They may have believed they were being targeted by a demonstrator or demonstrators.

“Butano, the retired WKYC sound engineer, said he and cameraman Jorge Gomez were filming near the Kent State victory bell, on the opposite side of Blanket Hill as the Guardsmen retreated. Butano said he heard four shots and grabbed Gomez’s shoulders to turn his camera in the direction of the gunfire. The Guard’s rifle volley soon followed. “

The 4 shots were consistent with the sound signature of a 38 pistol .

Oh, okay, I get what he’s saying: It was a crime to shoot some of those hippies when they began to riot, loot and burn down the city.
