Mitt Romney held meetings with donors in New York this week that left one attendee convinced he is running for president again in 2016.
A member of Romney's inner circle who spoke to Business Insider said the former governor of Massachusetts traveled to New York City on Monday where he met with key financial backers of his past campaigns to lay the groundwork for a 2016 White House bid.
The source, who was at one of the meetings, said other attendees included developer Stephen Ross, New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, and hedge funders Julian Robertson and Paul Singer.
A representative for Romney did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the meetings from Business Insider.
Romney, a former Republican governor of Massachusetts, previously ran for president in 2008 and in 2012, when he was the GOP nominee. In addition to potential donors, the source said Romney met with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) this week.
Christie endorsed Romney during his last race. However, he is expected to mount his own White House bid in 2016.

Since he became a republican in October of 1993 and began running for office, he has won a single election (49%), to a single term as a failed governor from 2002-2006, and was forced out against his wishes for reelection, leaving with 34% approval.
How does such a small time bit player come to dominate the national republican party?
These guys should all enter the Democrat primary
Money. Lots and lots of money. Almost as much money as Algore.
Go home Mitt. You tried, and that’s nice and all, but go home.
Romney can’t win. He barely won because he opposed amnesty.
Pat McCrory is the only guy who can run in the Romney lane and win.
The inner circle in his head should tell him to lay off the crack pipe.
Who do you suppose might run for the republicans?
Run for the border, Mitt.
His inner circle should listen to his own words on the matter.

Romney, don’t go away mad, just GO AWAY!
Hopefully he’s gets flushed early in the primary/caucus cycle, but he’ll likely have big $$ which is what it takes to keep grinding on...
After 2012, Romney’s son said Mitt didn’t really want the job. He spent six years of his life running for a job he didn’t really want?? So has anything changed with him, or is he just out to waste everyone’s time and lose again?
If Jets owner Woody Johnson is part of your brain trust you’ve got serious problems.
Where is the -—Not This Sh!t Again-—gif when you need it....
Ask yourself why the media is pushing these “Who’s gonna run in 2016?” articles?
Man needs to be beyotch slapped and pantsed. His job was and is to lose for his handlers in the DNC. He will be ruthless however against his republican primary opponents
This is nothing more than the MSM doing what it does best.....divide and conquer and I'm not buying into it.
Rather than eat our own, how about demanding the MSM start reporting on the potential candidates in the Democrap party? Oh wait, it's all Hillary all the time.........
I'd rather focus on taking down her than Romney.........
Thank God!
I want Romney to run (again). I want Romney to run because he’s a pro-Amnesty, pro-Obamacare big government liberal.
I want Romney to split the liberal vote in GOP primaries with Rubio, the next Bush whose only qualification is name recognition, Christie, and the rest of the republican liberals whose only claim to the nomination is being popular among democrats.
Meanwhile, I’m hoping that only one conservative will run: Senator Cruz. I have several issues with Ted Cruz, but the fact is that he is a small government conservative who is willing to fight for our freedom against people like Obama, Pelosi, Reid, McCain, Graham, and Romney. That’s a pretty big selling point, big enough that I’m backing Cruz regardless of who else jumps in the race.
That's an easy one! $$$$$!
