I’m thinking NYPD and it’s Democrat masters were way too interested in making an example of bootleg cigarette sellers. I also think the NYPD police union has some serious goombah behind it.
Don’t blame the cops.
If you don’t like the law on cigarette smuggling, get it changed or repealed.
But that doesn’t give one standing to break the law.
I agree 100%. They way the NYPD officers tried to subdue Garner made you wonder if Garner was an armed and dangerous criminal at the time. Correct procedure or not, the subduing procedure was ridiculous overkill and the NYPD is asking a lot of questions on why it had to end up with this tragedy.
There is a blatant conflict of interest. The city tax on cigarettes is used to fund the salaries of the police that enforce it.
Hmm.
If they were serious about it, the guy wouldn't have been arrested 30 other times for the same crime. How about the courts taking him off the street for a while?
