Senator claims that President Obama's immigration action hurts African Americans.
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is intent on pulling out all the stops to block President Barack Obamas executive action offering deportation relief for up to 5 million unauthorized immigrants. The pioneer of the 2013 government shutdown is pushing congressional conservatives to defund the presidents action in a must-pass spending bill, and has declared that not a single presidential nominee should be confirmed to any post if Obama moves forward with his illegal amnesty. On Wednesday, Cruz sank to a new low in his anti-immigration crusade, attempting to drive a wedge between Latinos and African Americans.
Speaking at a press conference today, the senator asserted that Obamas immigration policy is fundamentally unfair to black people.
Amnesty is fundamentally unfair to the millions of legal immigrants who followed the rules and came here legally, Cruz said, per Talking Points Memos Daniel Strauss. Amnesty is fundamentally unfair to the 92 Americans who arent working here right now. Amnesty is fundamentally unfair to the African American community thats facing historic unemployment.
The great warrior for racial justice may not be aware that the economic literature shows that immigrants actually dont rob other groups of jobs, despite what many conservatives cynically claim.
If Cruz is actually interested in addressing African American unemployment, there are a number of policies he could support: eradicating institutional inequities in the criminal justice system, massive investments in public education and job training programs, public works projects, and beefed-up enforcement of policies that aim to combat workplace discrimination.
Were waiting, senator.
He appears queer, not that there is anything wrong with that
Have they called Cruz a “white Hispanic” yet?
Or noticed that he’s Hispanic?
I guess he’s a self-hating Hispanic?
Nice catch Fresh Wind, but don’t get any on you.

This “Consider the Source” service provided by FR.
If it is from Salon, that means Cruz is doing the right thing. I won’t bother with the details....
If Saloon is against Senator Cruz he must be doing a lot right (no pun intended - Conservatives are NOT “right wing” : Conservatives adhere to the Constitution: The Constitution is the basis for our legal existence. Therefore, The Constitution IS THE CENTER. Therefore, Conservatives ARE CENTRISTS. Don’t think of it as a line or continuum, Think of it as a set of concentric circles with the Constitution in the center, and the Libs/Progressives orbiting a few light-years out on the edge,)
Spin it any way you like Mister Brinker, African Americans K-N-O-W that amnesty and other mass immigration policies are hurting their employment prospects. Unfair competition from immigrants denies African Americans jobs or lowers entry level wages.
Yeah, my gaydar blew a fuse!
No barf/projectile vomit warning on this one? Or should the source of the article be sufficient?
We are the Simpering Sodomites of Salon,
we dress all in black and wear eyeshadow,
someday we wanna be like Rachel Maddow,
and nobody gives a damn.
If we published in paper it’d be birdcage liner,
as long as it helps Obama, that’s fine.
We work for peanuts, since we have trust funds,
we write on new laptops and make PBR runs.
And nobody reads our crap.
“Yeah, my gaydar blew a fuse!”
I have a terrible gaydar and the needle fell off.
No room left after the headline.
Nicely done ... I hoped that someone would ‘get’ my reference.
LOL, it sure was a pleasure to read that. Satisfying in just about every way. Well done.
My fifth grade teacher and several other people I’ve known were Bataan Death March survivors.
If salon thinks he’s despicable, he’s on the right track
Whew, you scared me! You meant the little fag that wrote the article, not Ted. He’s a man’s man with a lovely family.
