I’d say he was probably an anti-Catholic, dope-smoking white supremacist...probably if he hadn’t been interested in attacking churches, a goal with which the left can sympathize, this would have gotten more attention.

Not if they were church’s that were pro amnesty. Since extremist seems to include “in favor of enforcing immigration laws”, if I read between the lines correctly.

Christian Identity Movement would be against most Christian Church’s. In this case the press’ use of “extremist views” seems to be correct. Though I would not say they were “Right Wing” because they are so outside of any mainstream political sphere as to go right past any “wing” and just tumble into a black hole.

To claim C.I.M. is some extreme branch of the Conservative politics is darn close to libel.
