AUSTIN, Texas A Texas man who shot up downtown Austin buildings and tried to the burn the Mexican Consulate before he was gunned down by police harbored extremist right-wing views and appeared to be planning a broader attack against churches and government facilities, law enforcement officials said Monday.

Ah here we go:
“Also in the van was a copy of “Vigilantes of Christendom,” a 1990 book associated with the Christian Identity movement known as the Phineas Priesthood, which espouses anti-Semitic and racist views. Inside the book was a handwritten note that referred to McQuilliams as a “priest in the fight against anti-God people,” Acevedo said.”

The “Christian Identity” movement is neither Christian, nor right-wing. It’s leftist National Socialism masquerading as Christianity, much like “Liberation Theology” is leftist Communism masquerading as Christianity.
He’s a former felon (bankrobber). He may not have voted in awhile.
“Churches? I dont think so. “
Well,,,, considering the views some churches have taken lately,,,,,,,,,
“How does this make the man a “right-winger”?”
Here’s how it works, to a leftist mind: This man was a racist. Right-wingers are all racist. Therefore, this man was a right-winger.
Exactly! The press paints all criminal views as “right wing.” In truth, they are left wing actions. Remember “actions speak louder than words?”
aha there is that angle yes.
I dont ordinarily think of “Church” in that regard...but given current social[ist] realities the likelihood that the churches had chosen to target may well have been of the “social[ist] “gospel”-”..variety.
I smell another gubment directed crisis..
After the Ferguson unpleasantness, the alphabit news are all trying to get back on message: that white, middle-aged men are the real culprits when it comes to hare-brained violence.
Of course, they aren’t basing their opinion on anything factual, as usual, so down the ol’ memory hole with this story.
Anyone even marginally right of center in Austin is considered a right wing extremist. Puh-Lease!
Gunner
He had a map with 34 buildings and “hundreds” of rounds. Even if he had 900 rounds, that's only 30 a building and he used 200 on one. He wasn't planning to attack 34 buildings, they were possibly targets or possibly exit “hiding places”.
They don't know much of what was driving his rage but the leap was made that a “consulate” and federal office (both in the wake of sweeping amnesty by executive order) MUST mean rabid right winger.
Just as Mayor Bloomberg knew that the Times Square bomber had to be some obese middle aged white guy upset over the passage of Obamacare.
It is apparent that this shooter had severe mental issues as is not typically the case with urban gunmen.
” the tea party connections will be revealed, as soon as we can fabricate them”
..but he had his Turner Diaries copy on him and a Ted Cruz fan club card.
A left-wing extremist.

Obviously, they are FReeper trolls.
“He felt at home in drum circles.”
Not a “right-winger”. Case closed.
I’d say he was probably an anti-Catholic, dope-smoking white supremacist...probably if he hadn’t been interested in attacking churches, a goal with which the left can sympathize, this would have gotten more attention.
