The National Enquirer, still basking in the glow of its takedown of philandering John Edwards, a story well known to many in the media but ignored because the man was, after all, the Democrats’ pick for veep and a darling of the left, is reporting that Hillary Clinton may be heading to rehab for a drinking problem.
A “boozed-up” Hillary Clinton suffered a secret collapse during a recent vacation – and now worried advisers want her to do a secret stint in rehab before her White House run!
Sources close to the former FirstLady and ex-Secretary of State revealed the hush-hush “Rehab Before White House” plan to The National ENQUIRER in advance of Hillary’s formal announcement to be a 2016 presidential candidate, touted for early next year.
A high-level insider told The ENQUIRER: “Hillary’s social drinking has gone out of control!
The first problem is the anonymous sourcing. The second problem is that this is just someone’s idea that Hillary should go, not that she will go. This is very thin gruel indeed, even if true.

That was my general attitude towards the Enquirer until they were the ones who broke the story of Sen. John Edwards’ ( and VP candidate ) affair, which turned out to be true.
In 2003, the Enquirer published a story claiming that Rush Limbaugh was addicted to painkillers. Law enforcement authorities in Florida later confirmed that Limbaugh was under investigation, and Limbaugh later admitted the addiction and checked himself into a drug rehabilitation facility.
In 2008, the Enquirer reported the marital troubles of Mel Gibson and Billy Joel, both of whom announced their divorces several months later.
I believe they also were one of the earliest to break the Jesse Jackson love child story.
They also helped the police solve the case of Bill Cosby’s son’s (Ennis Cosby) murder. The LA police chief had to get up at a press conference and say: ‘We have just arrested a suspect for the murder of Ennis Cosby going on information we are very confident about and this is in great part due to help from the National Enquirer.’
The point is this -— not everything they publish is false.

I’m not going to just dismiss this story, but I’m also not going to accept it at face value. I’m going to take a wait and see attitude. If the National Enquirer is accurate (and as others have pointed out, they’ve gotten a number of other big stories right), the story will be validated by other sources. Hillary’s made a lot of enemies along the way, and not just on the right. Somebody in a position to know, maybe a number of people, will start talking. If, on the other hand, the Enquirer is embellishing an incident that has little or no substance to it, and people on the right run with it, we will look very foolish. It will end up generating sympathy for Hillary, who will be seen as “the victim of mean spirited, baseless attacks.” One way or another, the truth will come out.
A vindictive drunk might be worse than Obama...
Actually, if this is true, it would be in the interest of the Democrat Party to bring this out and to dump Hillary ASAP. The longer this would drag out, the worse it would be for the Dems. So, mum's the word.

There "may be" some truth? I thought that Hillary's drinking was a given. There are several pictures of her looking blotto. The one used by an article I saw was an old picture. I had seen that one years ago. Perhaps being really drunk is the only way to survive being married to Bubba for years.

The other notable feature of Ohio is skiing. They actually used to promote it there. Problem is that the difference in elevation between the highest and lowest places in the state is less than 250ft! I guess they don’t count piles of garbage in those figures.
If she is collapsing, then the American Press needs to report it regardless of politics. It could be that she is throwing blood clots again. One of the worst things you can do when you have a problem with blood clots is to drink a lot of booze. She’s going to throw a blood clot to her lungs or brain and that will be the end of her.
