Today is the last day Louisiana residents can vote early before election day on Dec. 6. The polls are open until 6 p.m.

With one day left in the early voting period, Louisiana residents don't appear to be casting their ballots early as frequently as they were before the Nov. 4. primary. Around 174,700 people have voted early so far, compared to 236,000 overall before the primary election.

The Dec. 6 early voting period has included fewer days than the Nov. 4 early voting period because of the Thanksgiving holiday, which could have affected turnout. Louisiana has not had a statewide runoff election in several years, so it's difficult to compare early voting turnout in this contest to previous cycles.

Registered Republicans are making up a larger percentage of early voters at this point. They account for 39 percent of all Dec. 6 early voters so far, and made up just 33 percent of all early voters before the primary election in early November.

The percentage of registered Democrats participating in early voting is down from a month ago. Democrats have made up just 47 percent of early voters so far, compared to 52 percent before Nov. 4. Independent voters are casting early ballots at about the same rate as in the primary -- 13 percent -- at this point.

With one day left, the percentage of early voters statewide who are black is also down. Black voters made up 33 percent of early voters before the Nov. 4 primary. Currently, they only account for 26 percent of early voters.

David Vitter is trying to oust Bobby Jindal? From an out of state view, that seems odd.

UT OH, HILLARY CAMPAIGNED FOR LANDRIEU---
THAT MEANS LANDRIEU IS SHOVEL-READY

It's always good news when a Clinton comes in to flack
a Democrat--usually means the desperate Dem is in the
death throes. A Clinton visit usually finishes him/her off.

And when Mary is ousted that means Democrat losses stretch from the Carolinas westward to Texas. Southern Democrats control not a single governorship, US senator or legislative chamber.

Of the 140 Southern States election districts---110 went Republican. Even Arkansas and Illinois (Clinton hometowns) have Repub governors---important in a prez race since guvs control party machinery.

Jindal cannot run for reelection in 2015. He is term-limited.
