Today is the last day Louisiana residents can vote early before election day on Dec. 6. The polls are open until 6 p.m.
snip
With one day left in the early voting period, Louisiana residents don't appear to be casting their ballots early as frequently as they were before the Nov. 4. primary. Around 174,700 people have voted early so far, compared to 236,000 overall before the primary election.
The Dec. 6 early voting period has included fewer days than the Nov. 4 early voting period because of the Thanksgiving holiday, which could have affected turnout. Louisiana has not had a statewide runoff election in several years, so it's difficult to compare early voting turnout in this contest to previous cycles.
Registered Republicans are making up a larger percentage of early voters at this point. They account for 39 percent of all Dec. 6 early voters so far, and made up just 33 percent of all early voters before the primary election in early November.
The percentage of registered Democrats participating in early voting is down from a month ago. Democrats have made up just 47 percent of early voters so far, compared to 52 percent before Nov. 4. Independent voters are casting early ballots at about the same rate as in the primary -- 13 percent -- at this point.
With one day left, the percentage of early voters statewide who are black is also down. Black voters made up 33 percent of early voters before the Nov. 4 primary. Currently, they only account for 26 percent of early voters.

Kiss Mary Loser good-bye. Blacks are not turning out to pull the lever for her because they know its over.
And she won’t get near enough of the white vote to win.
Vote fraud in Naw Awlins notwithstanding.
Also, there is no "street money" available for vote hauling. The Dems have programmed their voters to sell their votes. Works fine, as long as the buyers have money to spread around. Not so much when the money dries up.
They should cancel the debate and put on something that would get higher ratings, like Gilligan’s Island reruns.
Can people who didn’t vote in the first election, vote in the runoff?
This run-off is happening only because Mary Loser put her ego ahead of what was best for LA.
She could have vacated her seat and saved the taxpayers money but she wants to go down the hard way.
People will happily oblige her wish next weekend.
Yes. The November election wasn't really a "primary," in that any voter regardless of political party registration can vote for any candidate regardless of registration. It's really a general election, with the December 6 voting a runoff between the two top candidates. Had Cassidy or Landrieu received 50% plus 1, there would not have been a runoff.
Anyone that is a registered voter they can vote.
Is the Guv the best possible successor for the other seat in 16’?
I wish there were a way that just for a moment you could feel her pain. Then you could relish it even better.
And if she could be me for just one moment, she’d know what a drag it is to see her.
David Vitter, Louisiana’s incumbent GOP Senator is running for Governor. The election is next year, in the fall of 2015.
The polls show him with a big lead. Likely, he will win. He will then appoint his replacement to finish out his term which ends in 2016.
There is much speculation as to who he will appoint, but he’s not talking, so my sources tell me.
Two names mentioned in the “political grapevine” are Congressman John Fleming (R-LA04), and State Treasurer John Kennedy.
57-43, RATS pretty much have a lock on 43% most everywhere.
60-40. That’s my firm prediction, and I’m sticking to it!!
Also, the two congressional runoffs will have 65-35 margins, in favor of the GOP. Both of them.
African-Americans gotta be absolutely nuts to cast one vote for Mary Landrieu. Six years of POTUS Obama (an African-American) and Obamabot, Democrat low life, Mary Landrieu have yielded nothing positive ofr Black folks living in the USA and especially the state of Louisiana. Actually, living conditions, jobs, opportunites and theconomy are much worse for Blacks then for the general American population. Obama and Landrieu have thrown Blacks under the bus...time and time again!!! How stupid can one group of voters be? Onc again....I will repeat....”There is no such thing as a free lunch”!!!
All voters in Louisiana vote against Obamabot, Democrat low life, Mary Landrieu on Saturday, December 6, 2014 destroying her politically, forever, and join in the rebirth of the great American nation, along with the landslide election of Congressman, Bill Cassidy, to be the next USA senator from the great state of Louisiana!!! DO IT!!!
A few weeks ago while in the new Orleans area I was listening to an all black talk radio show. They were decrying how the first black president was getting no respect and that the voters should support mary landrieu. Its as if ObamaCare and all his other debacles didn’t count.
Brain dead blindness to their same race demigod....
But then we have the republicans who will now be in power and plan to use that power to absolutely nothing different than the democrats. They intend to do nothing to clean things up. So what do we really gain by having another senate seat held by a republican?
She claimed that the $50,000 per year that Cassidy earned was 'dishonest' money.
But the Cassidy camp claimed he is a specialist in liver transplants as well as cardiology. His talents in medicine is an asset for him to train doctors...
