Darren Wilson, the Ferguson, Missouri, police officer who killed unarmed teen Michael Brown in August, setting off months of protests, will likely never be a law enforcement officer again, his lawyer said in an interview with NBC station KSDK.
"Realistically speaking, Darren will never be a police officer again, and he understands that," attorney Jim Towey said. "Going forward it will be school, and trying to carve out a new niche, new career, for he and his family."
There were violent protests this week in the St. Louis suburb after a grand jury declined to indict Wilson in Brown's death on Aug. 9. Twelve buildings and a police car were torched, police officers were pelted with bottles and rocks, and tear gas was used against crowds in protests after the grand jury's decision Monday. Other protests also erupted across the country....

Amen to that.
Wilson was alone, with no partner. Brown was unarmed. When Brown struggled for Wilson's gun and it went off after blowing thru Brown's hand, Brown fled. Wilson was alone, with no backup at a shooting scene. Why did Wilson continue to pursue Brown? I mean Brown would have shown up somewhere seeking medical treatment? Suspects can't outrun a radio or a camera or medical care for a gunshot wound.
Firing additional shots at Brown out in the open street means rounds going lord knows where? And the safest course of action for the officer, suspect, and public, would be to let Brown have an egress from the scene, knowing he'd surface soon enough in a situation more easy to control with the appropriate resources.
Are attorneys not required to pass English Grammar 101?
...new career, for himself and his family...
Regards,
You never pursue a wounded animal or person after you’ve shot it until you give the adrenaline a chance to ebb in favor of the arrival of shock and exhaustion.
I wonder what sort of financial planning is being done to divest his portfolio and reduce to zero that which a civil trial will attempt to steal from him. What an awful way to have to wake up wondering if everything you were planning is going to be taken from you... for merely doing your job.
Darren Wilson, the Ferguson, Missouri, police officer who killed 6'3", 300 lb. Michael Brown who matched the description of a suspect wanted for a strong-arm robbery of a convenience store in August...
There. Fixed it.
What was that according to the facts, 80 or 90 seconds?
Fighting inside of a cop car, guns, bullets flying, and blood, do we really need to worry why Wilson completed the mission?
All of this was against a man who was fleeing the scene of a strong arm robbery and who was confronted by a cop, do we really need to waste much time on Wilson’s 90 seconds of taking down the guy once it is established that he did no wrong?
Heh.
I have often wished that whenever Juan Williams, Geraldo Rivera or that loathsome troll, Bob Beckel are on, they should run a header beneath them that says “Irrational lunatic hired solely for the purpose of counter balancing rationality and sanity”.
Many years ago I stopped watching Fox though, because of those that I mentioned along with Alan Colmes and Bill O’Really.
I simply do not need to know their opinion on anything at all, ever, for any reason. I would honestly rather watch an off television than any of these fools.
The only person’s opinion and insight that I genuinely appreciate these days is Mark Levin’s.
I will close on the note of I can't wait until Al Sharpton and ted Kennedy get to meet and talk over old times.
Who told you to leave alone the men you have wounded, 20 seconds after you were trying to kill them to stop them from killing you?
Once that adrenaline gets going, things can get pretty crazy.
I still watch Neil Cavuto on occasion. Otherwise, I, like you, have all but stopped watching the News.
Most of my news comes from the internet and Rush.
LOL!
The primary duty of Wilson was to make sure for his safety #1. The public's safety #2. Catching the guy #3. In that order. He went directly to #3.
“Number 2 is flaky, I have some great stories involving guns and knives, but I chose to intervene, as a cop, I would HAVE to intervene, there are situations where I took the risk to fight for the gun or knife, that if I was a cop, I could not have taken that risk, or should be required to.”
Ask yourself why should it be that the rules of engagement for our military in a war zone be less stringent than it is for law enforcement in our cities and towns? Our military can’t shoot unless they are being shot at. And they don’t have a choice about the risk either. If the cop is afraid for whatever reason, that good enough here...
I would however amend my position to exclude situations where the officer is fired upon.
I’m not so sure that is an honest response to post 127 as a response to post 122.
I sounds instead like you just went for more dishonesty and misdirection to try to sell your lousy attack or reasoning.
I don’t think you accurately interpreted that post of mine. amd cops being fired on wasn’t a part of it.
Being fired on doesn’t figure into my point or position.
This Darren Wilson Ferguson conversation is enough, it isn’t intended to cover all news and all stories involving cops.
Maybe loot a descent belt while your at it
