Perhaps Mike Browns mom, Lesley McSpadden, is too busy coordinating the next T-Shirt promotion. Or perhaps Mike Brown Senior is too busy scheduling the next private jet trip to Europe while meeting with celebrities to grift more money from his death. Regardless of reasoning, Mike Browns body remains in unmarked grave three months after his death.
A CNN writer visited the cemetery and takes note:
[...] I follow the footprints to a small bouquet of plastic flowers, red and purple, planted in the ground.
There is not yet a headstone at Browns grave. I stand where Browns parents wailed as their sons casket was lowered on August 25 into a copper vault. Sixteen days before, he had been shot dead by Ferguson police Officer Darren Wilson.
One minute, the 18-year-old stood 6 feet 4. The next, he fell to the ground on Canfield Drive. His blood colored the dull asphalt.
This is an all too familiar pattern in the nationally publicized deaths of both Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown. Both sets of parents too caught up in the merchandising and financial exploitation of the death to actually pay respects to the short-lived life.
Grief takes as back seat when theres the potential for celebrity and financial gain .
Sound familiar?
Remember: Jesus Loves The Benjamins !
They sure are determined to keep his record a secret so there may be some serious charges he is suspected of.
Haven’t seen any more info on the juvenile record. Not sure we will for quite some time, but after things die down considerable I suspect some author will get those records a year or more down the line.
Involuntary manslaughter is stuff like killing someone running a red light, or while driving drunk; or a builder using materials he shouldn’t have; or a manager not keeping smoke detectors up to date. Law-breaking that doesn’t ordinarily kill people, or negligence, in other words, where there’s no evidence someone’s death was ever intended.
If Brown was an accomplice to a robber that went bad, and one of the other robbers shot and killed someone, he could have been charged with involuntary manslaughter. If he did the shooting, however, I think that would be an A or B felony. But I’m no lawyer, so maybe if he shot someone who died but they could show that wasn’t his intent, a ricochet or something, maybe he could have gotten off with involuntary manslaughter? Dunno.
“... an accomplice to a ROBBERY that went bad....”
Bah.
Poor mike is dead
Poor mike brown is dead
All gather round his coffin now and cry
He had a heart of gold
And he wasn’t very old
Oh why did such a feller have to die?
Poor mike is dead
Poor mike brown is dead
He’s lookin’ oh so peaceful and serene
He’s all laid out to rest
With his hands acrost his chest
His fingernails have never been so clean
[spoken]
Then the revern’d get up and he’d say
“Bruthus, we are gathered here to mourn and groan over our brother Mike Brown
Who assaulted a paki in the smokeshop”
And then there’d be weepin’ an’ wailin’ -— from some of those women -—
Then he’d say, “Mike was the most misunderstood man in this territory
People used to think he was a mean ugly fella and called him a dirty skunk
and an ornery cigar stealer
[sung]
The folks that really knowed him
Knowed that beneath them two dirty shirts he always wore
There beat a heart as big as all outdoors
Michael Brown loved his fellow man
[spoken]
He loved the birds of the forest
And the beasts of the fields
He loved the mice and the vermin in the barn
And he treated the rats like equals (which was right)
He loved all the little children
He loved everything and everybody in the world
Only . . . only he never let on
And nobody ever knowed it
[sung]
Poor mike is dead
Poor mike brown is dead
His friends are weepin’ wail for miles around
The daisies in the dell
Will give out a different smell
Because poor mike is underneath the ground
[Jud]
Poor mike is dead
A candle lights his head
He’s layin’ in a coffin made of wood
And folks are feelin’ sad
‘Cuz they didn’t treat him bad
And now they know the thug has gone for good
Poor mike is dead
A candle lights his head
He’s lookin’ oh so purty and so nice
He looks like he’s asleep
It’s a shame that he won’t keep
But it’s summer and we’re runnin’ out a’ ice
Poooooor Miiiiike
Poooooor Miiiiike
(With apologies to Rogers and Hammerstein and all you Okies out there)
