Perhaps Mike Brown’s mom, Lesley McSpadden, is too busy coordinating the next T-Shirt promotion. Or perhaps Mike Brown Senior is too busy scheduling the next private jet trip to Europe while meeting with celebrities to grift more money from his death. Regardless of reasoning, Mike Brown’s body remains in unmarked grave three months after his death.
A CNN writer visited the cemetery and takes note:
[...] I follow the footprints to a small bouquet of plastic flowers, red and purple, planted in the ground.
There is not yet a headstone at Brown’s grave. I stand where Brown’s parents wailed as their son’s casket was lowered on August 25 into a copper vault. Sixteen days before, he had been shot dead by Ferguson police Officer Darren Wilson.
One minute, the 18-year-old stood 6 feet 4. The next, he fell to the ground on Canfield Drive. His blood colored the dull asphalt.
This is an all too familiar pattern in the nationally publicized deaths of both Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown. Both sets of parents too caught up in the merchandising and financial exploitation of the death to actually pay respects to the short-lived life.
Grief takes as back seat when there’s the potential for celebrity and financial gain….

They’re probably waiting for their supporters to chip in to buy a tombstone for the Gentle Giant.
It’s not unusual for a tombstone to take a long time, though.
My father’s, through the V.A., took about a month.

Agreed. Criticizing people for not grieving the way you think they should is incredibly crass and low. It takes as long as it takes for a variety of reasons. This sort of tacky back bitting does not belong here.
I think my dad’s took about 8 months. Anyone who thinks that was too long can drop dead. There were reasons for the delay that had nothing at all to do with how we much we loved and adored him.
The first link I found says it takes four weeks to 180 days on average.

Notice that nearly all of the photos of Fat Bastard that have come out show him wearing a red colored garment of some kind. I think he was a Blood or one of their prospects.

It took months before our son’s headstone was completed and in place. It takes time.
Suspend your outrage.
Seems that the earth needs time to settle after some dirt has been removed and put back. Otherwwise, the stone can eventually lean and even tip over.
We had a temporary marker on my fathers grave the day after the funeral. The permanent stone was erected within the month.
Technically, they’ve told us Brown did not commit any “A or B” felonies. According to a guy who claims to be a cop working near Ferguson, that leaves the C & D felones, namely:

In other words, Michael Brown could have done something most of us consider very bad, and still not have committed an A or B felony. Personally, I’m convinced he DID have something on his record that most people would consider a serious crime; otherwise they would have told us what’s on his record/that his record was clear. My money is on Burglary in the Second Degree (which I would consider serious) or Felony Possession (which I would not consider serious), or both.
Although Assault on School Property wouldn’t surprise me.
I think it’s way, way too early to be scolding anyone for the lack of a grave stone. Pretty sure my son’s gravestone wasn’t up within 100 days, and it wasn’t for lack of wanting one.
Also, I think we should let people grieve in their own way. The grave beside my son’s didn’t have a stone for literally years — but people left toys and flowers more regularly than we did for ours, and they grew flowers there and otherwise tended that grave faithfully. Other, more neglected, graves went even longer, but when the gravestone finally went up, it was a snazzy dazzy super pricey one. And some separated parents (never married, divorced, whatever) can’t agree on the stone, even if they both want one, which can delay things considerable.
I think parents who’ve lost a child are more likely to delay stones than families who’ve lost someone elderly, because parents are more into denial. Getting the gravestone can have a finality and acceptance to it for some people. And it’s a “late in the grieving process” thing for many — sudden death takes longer to process.
No one is arguing that you can’t get a tombstone done quickly...

I have no doubt that this will be an elaborate one.

So the “officials” gave a clintonian statement about his record and left out C and D and misdemeanor possibilities A? That means he really was a known goon to the local system-—though maybe not to Wilson himself.
Be nice if some insider could fish through the local arrest or court records and let slip to the public any finds but I’m sure that would be against a law.

Make it "misdemeanor possibilities A-D" and, yep, that's my understanding of what happened. I always figured their careful phrasing was hiding something; I just didn't realize some of the stuff that might be behind that curtain!
I read elsewhere something about a murder he committed as a juvenile. Could that have been Involuntary Manslaughter. Anyone have more information on the juvenile record?
