Agreed. Criticizing people for not grieving the way you think they should is incredibly crass and low. It takes as long as it takes for a variety of reasons. This sort of tacky back bitting does not belong here.

I think my dad’s took about 8 months. Anyone who thinks that was too long can drop dead. There were reasons for the delay that had nothing at all to do with how we much we loved and adored him.

The first link I found says it takes four weeks to 180 days on average.

Seems that the earth needs time to settle after some dirt has been removed and put back. Otherwwise, the stone can eventually lean and even tip over.
