Anyone take the time to learn where the study came from? “Behavioral genetics at NorthShore University HealthSystem Research Institute in Evanston, Illinois.”

Wow, right up there with MIT. No matter — if a study is pro-gay and comes from Lackawanna Junior College, it’ll get the royal treatment from AP.

This would be valid only if they find that identical twins have a very high incidence of both being gay - and they have not found that, to my understanding.

Homosexual men overwhelmingly self-report being raped/molested by older men.

They oftentimes couch their abuse in other terms, like saying they were "seduced", in order to romanticize the event and make it more palatable.

Never will you hear a homosexual say that his molestation/rape was a bad thing, because that runs contrary to their agenda.

Homosexual men are MADE, not BORN.

If there’s a gene for homosexuality and lesbianism then what will the liberal queers think when heterosexual couples abort their babies for testing positive for those markers?

If they are brothers, the odds are higher that they’ve shared experiences.

It I far more likely that it is hormonally related than genetically. I’ve read that the chances of homosexuality can be increased if the woman suffers a lot stress during the pregnancy.

Sound like that play/movie “Twilight of the Golds” that explored what would happen if they ever came up with a genetic test that would determine if a male fetus was pre-destined to be gay.

this is ridiculous

even identical twins of gays aren’t normally gay at all

there is no gene

The article admits that studies trying to link homosexuality to genetics have had “mixed results,” yet I always hear it proclaimed as a FACT that genetics determines homosexuality.

A weak gene that helps prevent breeding to push the weakness forward.

Since they can’t reproduce, based on the numbers, it would have weeded itself out.

The key problem with this study is how does it control for the fact that brothers will obviously have a good deal of genes in common. Also with genes and complex behavior we are always dealing with propensity not certainty. Human beings do have a choice to make concerning the way they conduct themselves sexually. Also since so many gay men in particular reports sexual abuse I wouldn’t be surprised that incest plays a key role in many of these “gay brothers”. I had a bunch of puppies and one day I caught them ganging up on the runt of the liter trying to hump him.

What these genetic determinism studies fail to acknowledge is the role of the individual in making the right choices dictated by reality regardless of desires. Is a man to be excused of rape because he is predisposed to higher levels of hormones making his desire for women more intense or do we instead have a culture that teaches all men they are to control those desires and make right decisions? There is great danger in the focus on genetic determinism as a license of bad or simply incorrect behavior. If you are born a boy then the reality of that should dictate to any thinking person that a boy should mate with girls and vice versa. Just because on is boy with a delusion that they are super man wouldn’t make it so no more than being born with a compulsion to have sex with the incorrect sex makes it right. Its still an aberration and it still should not be indulged.

And yet another study proved the opposite following twins separated by adoption.

Regardless, it’s a sin. I am genetically oriented towards heterosexuality including adultery and fornication and those are still sins, too. Regardless of how I’m oriented.

If it is proven that a gay gene does not exist, would that change their view of homosexuality? Not a chance.

Therefore, if there is a gay gene, why should anybody else change their view of homosexuality? They shouldn’t.

It does not matter a bit if there is or isn’t a gay gene.
People who get a sex change don’t care what genes they were born with either.

Then there must also be genes for transexuals, intersexuals, transgenders, transmen, transwomen, genderless, polyamorous, asexual, and especially the I-want-attention-because-I-an-extra-special-snowflake gene.

OK... so it's genetic. Obviously, from an evolutionary standpoint, the desire to mate with someone of the same gender (which will never result in reproduction) is a defect and not just a "difference" like eye color might be.

Genetic defects can often times be overcome and dealt with, but first one must come to terms with the fact that there is a problem.

They don’t want to find a genetic marker because you would be able to test people for homosexuality. If you didn’t have the marker and were gay, it means it was a choice. If you do have the marker and you are not gay, it means it was a choice.
