LOL!
This is pretty bad PR right here. :P
They should charge a surcharge for all items sold to help their employees. ☺
So basically they’re going well above and beyond what most businesses do to help employees.
These were set up by employees for other employees in the employee only area. Looks like it was more of a stunt put on by ourwalmart which is a leftist/union/protest organizing group. This was about the same time they were organizing strikes before Black Friday
So what?
How cool is that?
Walmart used to have profit sharing with their employees. Something they initiated when nixon was still in office. And ended it when obama was in office.
I think walmart also coaches their employees on how to apply for govt handouts.
Great business plan
I suppose they could just donate the food themselves? Maybe give them a cart of groceries for 1.00.
It’s just kind of strange to ask the public for food donations for your staff when you sell it and know they need it.
I’d think at least 10/hr is fair if I hired someone for the day it would be for $100 a day.
Bingo!
this was last years’ news and yes you are correct it was a set up
That’s typical starting wage at most Walmart’s.
I work there. We still have profit sharing. We also have a 401K match and a stock purchase match. We also have fund raisers when an associate loses a spouse or is off for a long term illness. I can see democrats spouting this crap.. but when I read it here it is just plain disappointing.
Back in the Bush era (all of 7 or 8 yrs ago) the Dems derided the economy for providing “McJobs”
Now in the Era of Baraq, those fast foods outfits are expected to provide middle class jobs.
Yes it’s disappointing. WM donates to many worthy causes in the communities in which they have stores. People should look at the amount of charitable donations they make in a year. They give a ton of food for our local food pantry.
Yep, anything except pay them a decent wage.
What happened back in 2010?
Wal-Mart ends profit sharing with employees
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/oct/9/wal-mart-ends-profit-sharing-employees/
Did they reinstate it?
My sister is in store management. She says the regional management has her keep a list of 5 or 10 employees who are deserving for a surprise delivery to their home and sometimes a holiday promotion and raise.
