Footage has emerged of Darren Wilson - the police officer who killed Michael Brown - threatening to arrest a man for filming him.
The video shows Wilson approaching a resident in Ferguson, Missouri, and demanding that he put away his camera. [snip]
The arrest was filmed in 2013, but was only posted online this week. It shows Wilson telling Mike Arman, a 30-year-old Ferguson resident, to put away his phone or be arrested.
Wilson, thinking he is being photographed rather than filmed, said: 'If you wanna take a picture of me one more time, Im gonna lock your ass up.'
In response, Arman, identified by the Guardian, said: 'Sir, Im not taking a picture, Im recording this incident, sir.'
The clip cuts out after Wilson approaches, but an incident report which Wilson filled out after the event revealed that Arman was cuffed and taken to Ferguson police station.
There he was charged with failure to comply with Wilson, and also for breaching regulations on pit bull dogs. The charges were later dropped, Arman claims, when he showed police the video footage and proved his pet was not a pit bull.
The incident offers another insight into Wilson, whose behavior during the fatal confrontation with Brown is under intense scrutiny.

"What we've got here is failure to communicate."
Strother Martin was absolutely wonderful, wasn't he? GREAT movie.
People do have a right to take pictures, but not to interfere with legitimate police work. There isn’t enough context in this case to make a determination.
No, it WAS from Cool Hand Luke. It was "Boss Godfrey."
Poster rocksblues posted me regarding the scene: Yes, Boss Godfrey played by Morgan Woodward.
Taking a video only interferes with thuggish police work.
Well, It seems to indicate Officer Wildon may have megalomaniac tendencies. What if the man, Dorian Johnson, who was with Brown was telling the truth about how it started. He claimed Wilson yelled a profane request to get out of the middle of the street to them as he drove by and then stopped, rapidly backed up and doored Brown when they didn’t immediately comply. That’s when the altercation started according to Johnson. What if Brown didn’t react well to being cussed at and hit by a door and may have pushed it back. This could be when Wilson got his head bruise, if the door hit him. Then, Wilson may have went for his gun and Brown grabbed his gun hand in a failed attempt to keep from being shot. I am not saying this scenario is accurate, but it is as plausible as any other based on what we know. Brown didn’t go into a pcp fueled rage. He had only been smoking weed according to the autopsy result.
Since this is just a 15-second clip, someone has most likely carefully selected a begin point and end point of a longer recording that would make the most of a statement “Wilson Bad”.
It would be interesting to know what Brown said to the pg woman for her and others to turn around and stare at him. Running his mouth at them and shoving the store manager plays right into the same attitude he seems to have had with Wilson.
Doubtless there was more to this than is being released. Was Wilson responding to a savage-dogs-manacing-public complaint and the owner was filming instead of cooperating?
Note that unlike some officers, Wilson did not shoot the dogs. I guess they had the brains not to charge an armed policeman.
What part of the video did you see the resident interfering with Wilson? In fact the both were communicating to each other and Wilson never told the homeowner he was interfering with him.
In fact the only thing Wilson said was the resident did not have the right to record him.
It takes no effort to record and the camera does it all. And it certainly does not stop an officer from speaking to someone or even arresting them.
Video isn’t working. Tried different search engines and still no luck.
If the grand jury can drag this out long enough Wilson will die of natural causes. Problem solved.
Go to flash player and update it. Bet that’s your problem.
Just uncheck any other stuff ya don’t want.

I’ve never been able to get flashplayer to update.
Not a fan of most cops.
Filming anyone in public is pretty much a right everyone has. I doesn’t matter if it’s a cop or not.
But, this doesn’t mean he shot the kid without reason. It just shows he is another cop who is a dick. Nothing new there.
LBJ’s Great Society is a mess.
Agree that there’s virtually nothing to the video. But read the arrest report.

Arman wasn’t arrested for filming Wilson, he was arrested for “Failure to comply” — specifically, for refusing to take the summons Wilson was trying to give him. I do think Wilson has an “I’m just not playing this game today” attitude, but IMHO that in itself doesn’t make Wilson a bad cop. Wilson warns the guy, the guy argues with him, and he acts on the warning.
Handgun shootings are survived about 80% of the time.
So yeah, stating the consequential metabolic state and means of causing it is worth reporting.
Agree.
How does Wilson “lie to the resident”? He warns the guy he’ll arrest him, the guy doesn’t comply, and Wilson arrests him.
If you read the incident report (on Scribd), Wilson is there to deliver a warrant that the resident was refusing to take; that’s what ticked Wilson off, and that’s what Wilson arrested him for.
