Cato's Letter No. 11 (1721) by Thomas Gordon:

Title: The Justice and Necessity of punishing great Crimes, though committed against no subsisting Law of the State.

"This is nothing less than asserting, that a nation has not a power within itself to save itself: That the whole ought not to preserve the whole: That particular men have the liberty to subvert the government which protects them, and yet continue to be protected by that government which they would destroy: That they may overturn all law, and yet escape by not being within the express words of any particular law."

Indicted, charged, convicted, and sentenced to life at hard labor for treason against the Republic. Or a firing squad.

“Guy was just doing his job, my beef is with the politicos who hired him.”

I tend to agree with you. He was pretty vocal about how this was going down. As can be seen in the videos and his statements. The politicians and media just wanted to ignore it and shove this garbage down our throats. Even though he was in agreement with the politicians and media, it was really up to them to expose and stop this abomination and travesty thrust upon the stupid Americans.

I agree. Deceive my countrymen this way and then insult us by boasting how stupid we are.

I’m so pissed I could chew nails. What an @$$ wipe.

Folks, I am certain the alphabets are scouring through post on FR so I hold my tongue, but only 36% of eligible voters cast their ballots.

For all that is good and holy, stand up for your freedom people!

He created “synthetic firms” comprised of “synthetic workers” and modeled the firm responses based on the average effects of policies on their workforce.

I wonder if he accurately modeled the “Worker Stupidity Coefficient.”

He no doubt resold the same vile work product and knowledge many times over.

Was it deception, or was it a reward? After all, our government betters threw money at Solyndra which was diverted to crony investors even after it was apparent that it was going down the tubes. Was Gruber convenient--an academic giving them the seal of approval, over and over-- and rewarded for that?

I googled his career on Wikipedia. He earned a Ph.D. in economics, with a thesis on public health. After a few professorial years, he went on leave to the government, where he worked on health economics. He's gamed the system in a most masterful manner to create his special area of expertise. In a way, I have to admire it... I don't begrudge him a good consulting wage, but I don't want to pay it multiple times for the same work, and I certainly don't want his work providing the excuse for the ACA to mess up tens of millions of lives.

Thanks for posting the link to Cato’s No. 11. I had not heard of that before. It certainly encapsulates this situation, doesn’t it?

“Salus populi suprema lex esto” — That the benefit and safety of the people constitutes the supreme law.

You don't have a beef with this guy?

Guys like this work hand-in-hand with the politicos. They may even believe in the arrogant government-knows-best philosophy more than the politicos.

Gruber has not presented himself to the voters, it’s wrong to say he deceived them.

And $5.9 million? His masters got away cheap.

The only think we need Gruber for now is to confirm that it’s him on the video saying that subsidies are for state exchanges only, and that Pelosi and Reid knew it.

After that, he can disappear for all I care. He is otherwise of no importance.
