Defiant Obama: I will use my power

YANGON, Myanmar — President Barack Obama on Friday defended his plans to use executive power to bypass Congress, signaling that he’s determined to move on issues like immigration and climate change, especially when lawmakers have failed to act.

“They have the ability to fix the system. What they don’t have is the ability to do is expect me to stand by with a broken system in perpetuity,” Obama said on immigration reform at a joint news conference here with Myanmar dissident leader Aung San Suu Kyi. “It’s way overdue. We’ve been talking about it for 10 years now and it’s been consistently stalled.”

Obama said he’s determined to grant relief to illegal immigrants in the coming weeks if Congress doesn’t produce a bill first.

“I gave the House over a year to at least give a vote on the Senate bill. They failed to do so,” the president said. “I indicated to Speaker Boehner several months ago that if Congress failed to act, I would use all lawful authority that I possess … That’s going to happen. And that’s going to happen before the end of the year.”

Obama also suggested that the deal he cut with China to reduce greenhouse gas emissions was proper because he has to take into account longer-term interests than do lawmakers who have resisted such actions....

Congress can also revoke a presidential executive order by passing a bill by a veto-proof (2/3 vote) majority.

Then Executive orders have the same effect as a Constitutional Amendment. Who knew the Founders put that loophole in the Constitution?

THEN WHY DO THE REST OF US?

Because they have Police and judges as wells armies to deal with you. Of course I guess you could organize your own.

“Executive amnesty” is a euphemism for a coup d’etat against We the People and the Constitution of the United States.

“Daw Aung san Suu Kyi”

Born June 19th, 1945 in British Burma (now Myanmar) to her mother Khin Kyi and her father, the cherished General Aung San. An advocate of democracy and freedom, her father became a national hero in Burma. He was instrumental in establishing the Communist Party of Burma which brought about independence from nearly 124 years of British colonial rule. When Suu Kyi was two years old her father was assassinated and the country fell into a military dictatorship.

At least this gal doesn’t hide her Communist roots.

Yep. He's a narcissistic power hungry no good egotist. Thinks that he has the power to order Congress to act. We don't need no stinkin king. Too bad his term of office isn't over already.

I think he has many many loyalists in the military, and I guarantee you if ordered most would fire on American civilians.

Agree 100%. Those who think the military will all keep their oaths are deluding themselves.
