So heres a suggestion. Fox News has revenues approaching $2 billion and a newsgathering investment of nearly $900 million per year why not plow some of those funds into an investigation into the transparency of the passage of the Affordable Care Act? If what Gruber says is on target, after all, then there must be a heck of a lot more scandal to uncover. Dont rely on one source for this story, Fox News.

If I said what I hope happens to the Washington Post and New York Times, I’d have the FBI at my door.
bump
Print media is flopping on the beach like stranded whales. They will soon be beyond rescue.
This has been the MSM game plan for ALL of the Obama scandals: If we don’t cover it, then we can say it is just a Fox News/right wing hit piece with no substance. The story doesn’t get legs, and it therefore becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy by the MSM honchos.
The guy is basically saying: We (the Wa Po) aren’t going to cover it, no matter how bad it looks, because are Obama’s butt boys and we have the power to prevent a story from getting “legs.”
MSM seems too busy engaging in incestual frottage to pay attention to the news.
And I do mean Emily Rooney and Ronan Farrow.
Does it involve a flock of pet parrots?

MIT Procedures for Academic Misconduct (how to terminate Jonathan Gruber tenure)

WaPo can’t?
Do not need investigation. Time for indictment and prosecution for fraud.
Gruber was paid millionsto run computer models.
Did he run those models on MIT computers while on the clock using MIT grad students as slaves??
I would imagine Gruber made certain that he controls the source code and the best way to do that is for him to have written the code himself and then keep it to himself. It is reportedly only 15k lines of source code. I would imagine it is coded in a common language such as C, C++, or Fortran, to aid portability to arbitrary computers. One thing the WH boasted when it no-bid contracted with the Groob was his ability to perform quick turnaround on new input parameters. Therefore it is conceivable that runs of the code could take just a few hours or even just a few minutes on a mid-size Mac laptop.
One more thing— if Gruber claims to have written the modeling software on his own time, then Gruber owns the modeling software. If Gruber wrote it on MIT time, then imaginably the software belongs to MIT, not Gruber. From an outsider perspective, the difference might be relatively minor since both Gruber and MIT are private (in contrast to public) entities, and the public is not entitled to see the software (not to mention audit the software for accuracy).
And given that the software model is presumably proprietary, then a legitimate question might be how does anyone know that the software model accurately models the real world? I would imagine that this would be a legitimate question to ask Gruber’s peers in the economics research sphere. If these guys are real scientists, then they are poring over Gruber’s work and verifying its accuracy. If it is all smoke and mirrors, and not real science, and there are no academic checks and balances on Gruber’s so-called scientific work, then Gruber’s peers in the academic community are being taken for a ride every time he uses his software model to write and submit for peer review another paper that uses his model. Which is it? Which academics stand with Gruber and vouch for his work?
So one media source is calling for another one to investigate Gruber and the ACA? Don’t they have reporters? Weird.
Interesting.
Most posters here think it’s the Post calling for the investigation.
It isn’t.
It’s a small Blog writer, who evidently writes in the WP from time to time.
Gruber may have been correct.
On Greta tonight!
Be very careful of any such advice coming form anyone in the Washington Post pile!!!
It’s up to 6 now.
