Walmart needs to think about becoming the customer oriented store they were circa 1980. They grew fat and complacent, and they no longer seem in touch with Americans. For example, I have written them at least two letters (yes, paper letters) in the past 10 years, and they have not responded to either one.
My local store was training a huge number of temps for the holiday season. They obviously are trying to up the manpower to improve customer service.
Walmarts vary greatly in customer service from store to store. Generally they reflect the attitude of the neighborhood they are in.
They have basically become a store that caters to the EBT and Welfare crowd. Which is why a lot of us avoid Walmart. BTW, also surprised anyone wants to work there—especially the cashiers. I have witnessed customers screaming and hurling insults at cashiers worse than the saltiest sailor.
I wrote to our local WM.
Nothing in response.
Nobody reads paper letters any more. Too much effort to sort it out from the junk mail.
Our Walmart is the worst managed in TX...I hope! The manager is a woman and she is the pits! Half empty shelves and stuff in all the wrong places.
