Democrats in Pennsylvania cheered Republican Gov. Tom Corbetts ouster last week. But winning the governorship may not assuage the loss of their top Republican ally, Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi, who was deposed in a GOP leadership election on Wednesday.
Notwithstanding the Republican governors 10-point defeat to Democrat Tom Wolf, Republicans picked up eight seats in the state House and three in the Senate. The gains bolster the GOP majority in the Senate to 30-20 and 119-84 in the House. Thats not strong enough to override a veto, but Democrats will now have a hard time passing legislation merely by picking off some moderate Republicans.

Veto everything Wolf tries to do
Or let him have a few pieces of legislation and watch them tank PAs economy so he gets thrown out!
I know there’s another potential senate majority leader we’d all like to see be deposed.
If I recall correctly, it was Pennsylavania’s Republican Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi who derailed changes to how Pennsylvania would apportion its electoral vote in Presidential elections. The proposed change would have the state wide vote winner get 2 of the electoral votes and the vote winner in each Pennsylvania congressional district would get one electoral vote for that district.
That would have made a lot of sense and would have eliminated the
reward the ‘RATS got by all the fraudulent voting in Philadelphia. Oh, I hate RINOs.
Where 'moderate' = 'liberal'.

Only takes 3/5ths to override a veto in NC, which we have.
No need to veto. Wolf can’t sign a bill unless the GOP-controlled legislature passes it. He is what is known as a weak, useless governor.
Goofy Tom is going to be a disaster and a joke as PA Gov.
And he might turn out to be a mini-Obama clone with his lunatic psycho Attorney General Kane, trying to bypass the legislature.
We underestimate these people at our own peril.
“Goofy Tom is going to be a disaster and a joke as PA Gov.”
Sadly, that could describe either the outgoing or incoming Tom.
Republican Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi may be a RINO on a lot issues, but he was the good guy here.
Probably more accurate to say moderate = corrupt.
In the PA 'old boys (& girls) network, always follow the money. There are a bunch of them behind bars now.
Ds or Rs, the corruption in State Government is truly bipartisan.
Wolf might be having a hard time governing ... good.
Thanks for the clarifying information; that’s good to know info. I had high hopes that the electoral college change was going to happen and then, suddenly, it sort of vanished into thin air. Gleason was an asshat for killing it.
