There’s a time to have fun and a time to be serious. Sometimes humor is a welcome and needed relief. Sometimes it’s an obstacle. And sometimes it’s misunderstood and thus danqerous. That’s why we don’t use the “N word” a lot here. We self-censor, because we know it would be taken the wronq way and used aqainst us.

I don’t particularly care for dead baby jokes even thouqh I know people have the freedom to say whatever they want. Because I’ve lost 2 children. Joke about boys “qettinq laid” by beautiful women as if rape isn’t rape, but realize that even thouqh you may be mockinq the very idea that beautiful people can do whatever they want, to somebody who’s been used and abused by the beautiful/popular/powerful people the joke miqht not be so funny, and miqht actually contribute to an attitude that hurts them very much.

We can joke, and hopefully do. But with class, because we are people who actually do care about what is riqht and qood. That’s what FR is about.

Travis, not meaninq to draq you into this if you want to stay out of it, but I do think it’s a hurtful overridinq philosophy that every male wants every sexual encounter he can qet. Rape is about power, not about sex, and until people realize that, they are qoinq to imply that there’s somethinq wronq with a quy who DOESN’T welcome every sexual encounter he can qet.

Jokinq is fine. I just think that people should be careful that their jokes are understood the riqht way, because jokes have broken a lot of people - either intentionally or accidentally.

Well, good to see most of the deleted posts, about 40 of them, were un-deleted, in a rare performance of Moderator moderation.
I was watching and posting in real time, and I have never seen so many posts pulled without rythme or reason.

I had four posts pulled, and two were returned to life.

They were all innocuous.

Anyway, after 6 years of terror with Obola at the helm, and daily outrages, sometimes more than one a day from DC, a little humor is called for.

It is an adolescent fantasy of most normal males to be tutored in the ways of the world by a savvy older woman.

The prettier, the better.

The reverse not so much.

Men and women are different.

I skip past threads that do not interest me.

I suggest others do the same.

As others have said, there is still a high level of decorum here on FR.

Other sites have so much profanity, you need a shower after you read the posts. DU is a prime example.

I went there Election Night to witness the wailing and gnashing of teeth, and was swiftly reminded why I had not visited there in years.
