A BURGER restaurant has caused uproar by mocking a vegan customer on Facebook and comparing her beliefs to Nazism.
Mark Clews, co-owner of Tuk Tuk in the NSW Hunter Valley, said he had warned the woman her food could contain traces of meat, and she had eaten it anyway.
.....
Others called the post disgraceful and as angry messages poured in, one user wrote on the page: Do not mess with the Vegans ... EVER!!!
Mr Clews responded: But they are so easy to mess with. They lack physical strength because of zero red meat in their diet! They are single-minded and Nazi-like in there conviction ... The worst thing, from a chefs point of view is they cannot cook a vegetable to save their life.
.....
Mr Clews told news.com.au he had been bombarded with abuse throughout the night since the incident yesterday.
He said he had received death threats and abusive phone calls to his mobile phone number, which was published on the campaigners Facebook page.
.....
He said the restaurant offered vegetarian and pescetarian options, as well as a bunless burger for gluten-intolerant customers.
But he said that when the customer had questioned the menu, he had told her the falafel burger could have meat traces from the hot plate, which is simply scraped down between burgers.
.....
He said she and her friend were aggressive in their behaviour, and he felt they wanted to make trouble.
One in 200,000 people who dine here might be vegan. Were a very small restaurant and we dont have the facilities to clean off the hot plate with caustic soda and add oil again every time.
This is our restaurant. Its basically a temple of meat. We cater for who we cater for. Why should we be dictated to?

Vegetarians are evil. They slaughter plants by the trillions. Vegetarians have a lot in common with locusts.
I am a militant carnivore. Anyone who eats a single vegetable must die.
No. No. yes. Maybe.
They are not sentient and they are NOT helpless.
I put you in with a Cape Buffalo and you would quickly learn the gentle grass eater is a vicious killer.
They are creatures of God yes and most of them eat meat in some form.
Whether they have souls... It is not so written so I will not say that they do or don't.
It is a matter of pure belief and therefore not subject to any sort of logical argument.
Two main reasons:
(1) A group comes in, and one or two of the people happen to be vegetarians who are going along with most of the group wanting burgers, or
(2) Militant vegans seeking out the place and wanting to create trouble. Much like gay activists seeking out a Christian baker to order a gay wedding cake.
Groupthink and militancy. Got it.
Sure, tell a bull that it is weak....
The classic Genesis creation accounts speak of certain varieties of animals with the same word used for the souls of people.
But we should hasten to add, this does not forbid the sacrifice of animals. That is expressly permitted, and by purpose.
Calling Jesus Christ the Lamb of God wouldn’t make any sense if we did not know of the sacrifice of lambs.
The bible does not delve into the details of animal souls or animal eschatology, as it does not delve into the details of other things that could prove very intriguing. God just urges people to acknowledge Him as Savior. The explanation of the grotty details can be dealt with later. Animal souls, which cannot sin but are still affected by the presence of sin in the universe, may be resurrected and bestowed with new bodies too, for all we know.
If they do not want to be compared to NAZI’s they should stop acting like NAZI’s
this is ridiculous
Now they want to dictate what a business must sell
I have a gluten allergy too- and yes it can develop late in life.
But I just don’t eat gluten. I don’t care if anyone else does. If I hear someone complain of the same symptoms I had, I will suggest it to them- but its up to them if they want to try it or not.
The ones that have, have thanked me for it- that’s why I do it.
ALRIGHT!! Now that’s my kind of food.
Bacon makes everything better.
Don’t mean to offend, but there is NO substitute for butter.
1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.
2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.
3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.
4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.
Souls? I don't know. But they eat each other. Even rabbits will eat meat if they can get it. God permits it; therefore there is no moral issue about eating meat. But go ahead, More bacon for me.
That won't happen. That animals have souls is a liberal "feel good" concept and has zero basis in scripture.
As far as I'm concerned, the person who posted that drivel has outed himself with that remark.
I absolutely refuse to eat the rotting corpses of slaughtered, suffering animals
And here I thought he was talking about not eating road kill!
My thoughts as well.
Vegans = Idiots.
Their paranoia is a mental illness.
Yeppers!
Peter Lavenda talks about the Nazis and how they affect us today.
