Romney Blasts 'Naive' Obama's Foreign Policy

Former Presidential candidate Mitt Romney on Friday criticized President Barack Obama over his policy in the Middle East and his attitude towards Israel.

Romney, who spoke at the inaugural Israeli American Council National Conference in Washington, accused Obama of being “naive” and of “distancing ourselves from allies”.

Commenting on reports that Obama had sent a letter to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei suggesting cooperation against the Islamic State (ISIS), Romney was quoted by The Washington Times as having said, “I was frankly stunned that the President of the United States would write a letter of that nature, in effect legitimizing a nation and a leadership which is violating international norms and is threatening the world. I find it astonishing.”

“You can talk about a president talking to other world leaders. But to suggest that somehow we could somehow work together is something that is so far beyond the pale I was speechless,” Romney added.

“The right kind of approach is to recognize Iran in the way we thought about South Africa during apartheid. We considered it a pariah. Their leaders were shunned, they were not invited to international bodies. We exerted moral sway. To somehow have communications with Iran’s supreme leader is, in my view, an enormous error,” he said.

“It is tempting to think that the President is simply inept in dealing with foreign affairs. The reality is, he does have a foreign policy,” Romney said, characterizing it as “ineffective and wrong.”

It’s not too late to accept Mr. Romney. He will be better prepared and bolder this time.

Who cares what you think now Romney? You did not have the balls to go after him as you should have, now you expect to have an audience? Why were you so timid in your campaign with the same accusations? Get lost.

It is really too bad that too many people expect Obama to act like a regular person when he is not a regular person.

He is a psychopath. He has no conscience. He does his own will and the world be damned.

The first rule of war is to know your enemy.

How do you react to a psychopath? You block him at every single turn. If possible you put him in prison so as not to harm anymore people, because there is no cure for psychopathy.

That is the pragmatic approach. To block him in and make it very difficult for him to maneuver.

Only 2 more years, folks. And then he is a goner.

Well, Obama never served, and Romney fought and struggled to make sure that he didn't break the perfect 170 year record of no Romney man ever serving the United States in uniform.

Romney men do not serve, ever, as the centuries pass.

"But to suggest that somehow we could somehow work together is something that is so far beyond the pale I was speechless,” Romney added.

And I'm speechless at a major party presidential nominee who could somehow use somehow twice in the same sentence.

Nonsense. You mean he has grown a set of testicles, minutely larger than his previous pair? Nonsense. So does he have the “wisdom” to say now what he should have said two years ago? Nonsense, he is still afraid to attack the feckless fool for what he is, a socialist. No one will say it, not even this whip named Romney. Nonsense

No, he’s not naive. Rather he is criminal, with his “FOREIGN POLICY”. He is the Neville Chamberlain of this century. By the time he is gone, if he ever goes, we will be in for some very difficult days

He is a couple of years late to the party - better late than never but does this mean something is bad only after the fact or did he not have the brains to realize what Obama was up to via Egypt, Libya etc was bad policy before it all went sour. One would expect that a future President would have a bit of foresight not just 20/20 hindsight!

Every man, even every man who is a retread candidate sniffing about the nomination for president, is entitled to offer criticisms of subjects of his choice. Equally, we are entitled to criticize Romney for his choices.

Romney has chosen foreign policy this time rather than the great and immediate threat to the Republic: Obama's unconstitutional and tyrannical attempt to socialize America by enfranchising illegal aliens. In making this choice Romney betrays his true nature of an establishment Rino who will not stand for conservative values in the clutch. He will cave on immigration just as he will cave on Obamacare and he will cut his deals with Wall Street at the expense of Main Street, with China at the expense of the middle class, with K St. at the expense of all of us, with insurance against consumers.

In all events, he will side with elitists against The Tea Party.

I wish it was a naive policy, methinks it's all intentional. President Barakeh HUSSEIN Obama has an agenda and he's been pushing it, (or foisting it upon all of us) since 2009...

I love the way you put it, about reacting to a psychopath! you are RIGHT ON!

But I do not think Obama is naive. He is transforming our great country into a banana republic BY DESIGN. It is his original plan. He hates America. He IS a Muslim at heart, or an atheist....

The ONLY thing Mr. RomneyCARE has EVER been bold about
is backstabbing conservatives and imposing his
statism for Obola and the DNC.

Remember HillaryCARE?

Is that sarcasm? I hope so.

How do we EVER forgive him for backing off on Benghazi? It emboldened Obama to do even worse stuff second term. And his decision not to campaign for 47% of the vote, avoiding fragile neighborhoods? This time, conservatives articulated their vision in a way that resulted in successful conservative black politicians, larger percentages of the Hispanic and black vote, and a much better result for constitutional conservatives.

I suspect one of the questions to be discussed in future history books (if there is a future) is why Mr. Romney campaigned so forcefully against conservatives in the primaries, but backed off for the general election.

And you know what else? MA lost its governorship of MA when Romney's hand -picked successor lost to Duvall Patrick, an Obama cheerleader. Finally, they're back to a Republican governor in MA, now that the Romney touch is long gone.
