Pelosi Delivers Postmortem To Her Troops (Said Democrats Lost Because They Didn't Vote)
he Hill ^ | November 6, 204 | Mike Lillis

Posted on 11/06/2014 7:22:00 PM PST by lbryce

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Thursday provided a straightforward postmortem on the sweeping defeat her party suffered at the polls two days before: Democrats didn't win, she said, because Democrats didn't vote.

In a 75-minute call with the members of her caucus, the minority leader acknowledged the Democrats' "terrible year" but argued that low voter participation — not the party's message — was the root of the problem.

She's vowing an all-out push to get more voters of all political persuasions to the polls in the future, and called this effort part of Congress's "moral responsibility." "Next year has to be the year to expand the universe of people who vote. I'm concerned that eligible voters did not vote in the election this year," Pelosi told her troops, according to a source on the call.

What a fraud Pelosi is to suggest that her own party’s message and agenda had nothing to do with her party’s low voter turnout.

A relative of mine was trying to make the same case today, in a different way, but similarly blaming election results MOSTLY on voters who did not vote. She was nearly taking the attitude that it was your civic duty to vote even if you could only chose between what you saw as one or the other bad candidate, not someone whom to you your vote would make a positive difference. She as much as tried to say anyone who felt differently was nuts. Frankly, I think her position is nuts.

For Pelosi, denial is a river in Egypt.

She is certifiably insane.

But that’s exactly why the Democrats will keep her around, even though she brought them to the lowest point in a century.

Importing them by the millions as we speak.

Immigration reform means air-conditioned comfort.

As if the Left didn’t do every single thing in it’s power to get out the legal vote, and then some.

Milwaukee Public Schools were CLOSED on Nov. 4th so the teachers and stoodents could participate in Push/Pull/Drag operations.

Its not in the Democratic vocabulary.

Maybe none of us should have voted. Then they would really have taken to heart what our views are. Sheesh. Seems they care a lot more about the deadbeat, lazy people who didn't know enough or care enough to vote than they do about those of us who made the effort.

How out of touch can they be?

She is the one who insisted Obamacare would save the Democrats and would allow nothing to stand in her way.

Her powers of judgment proved to be as bad as her political acumen.

Ms. Pelosi is...vowing an all-out push to get more voters of all political persuasions to the polls in the future...

What Ms. Pelosi does not understand is that people can only be "victimed" and threatened only so much before they just become inured to the negativity.

She and her Dems will never get it that most folks just want to work hard and pursue a dream of success for them and their kids and grandkids (in relative safety.)

Couldn’t get the illegals on the bus, or spent all of the election money on drugs?

You decide.

Jesse Jackson gave the ‘rent a mob’ free chicken dinners and other perks. Pelosi just does not know how to motivate them.

What more can be done to encourage people to vote?

We have liberalized registration, with laws such as motor voter, so that people have more opportunities to easily register to vote than ever before,.

We have liberalized voting by mail and early voting in most states, to make it easier to vote at your convenience, not just on election day, than ever before.

What realistically more can be done to make it easier for people to vote?

What if some people don’t follow the news, don’t follow politics, and don’t care about any of this? Why do we want to encourage such people to vote if they don’t want to? You have the right to vote, not an obligation to vote.

This is good. As long as the Demonrats live in denial and think their getting thrashed is a marketing problem, not the fact that their agenda is total garbage, we have a chance to right the country again.

I think the Clintons are among the losers in this election.

Both Clintons campaigned heavily for many candidates in many states. And none of their candidates won their elections.

Do the Clintons still have star power in the Democrat party? They were ineffective in these mid-terms. Bill couldn’t even help in his former home state of Arkansas to get Pryor re-elected. Perhaps the Clintons time has come and gone.

And that could have big implications for Hillary’s 2016 campaign.

Starting a voter push just gives Pelosi another bucket to put money into. Wouldn’t it be neat if the Dems started a voter ID push? Heyyyy,,maybe the GOP should do that!
