On Wednesday's CBS This Morning, co-host Norah O'Donnell fretted that the newly elected Republican Congress would dare to pass legislation: "If you look at a number of these new senators, they're quite conservative. Why wouldn't they go along with what Rand Paul has said? They're gonna send bills up to the President, as he told Charlie Rose last night, 'We're going to keep sending bills up to the President and we'll see whether the President wants to work with us or not.' Is the President going to be forced to veto a bunch of bills?"
In response, political director John Dickerson had to give O'Donnell a brief lesson on the Constitution: "Yeah, but that's okay. That's the way it's supposed to work....the way they designed this whole American system was you could send them up, they get vetoed, then you have a conversation, you fix it, and then something goes through."

Oh, no! Crisis of crises!
Without Harry Reid the bottlenecker, who will be there as the gatekeeper to actually keep a bill from reaching Obama's desk???
CBS is in a panic!
Oh the horrors. Passing bills that CBS and their liberal ilk don’t like.
I see no problem with oDonnels question. What am I missing?
There's nothing unusual...unique...threatening...problematic...about Congress putting together bills and sending them to the President. Happens every year...every month Congress convenes...Oh...except on days where Harry Reid bottled them up these past years...and they never reached Obama as a matter of course...what did I read? Something like 359 such bills???
It seemed like a question. I am missing it too.
Really dirty rumor going also around that pilots might just FLY..!
Taxi drivers might get uppity and just DRIVE, ya know..?
VERY worrisome..!!
Horror of horrors! Obama is going to have to do some work signing bills now. How will he find time to get in a golf game? Handling crises is so much on him already, now he has to sign bills?!!!!!!!/s
Hey, without that obstructionist Democrat controlled senate, do you think there’s a chance of an Obama budget finally passing? ;)
Howzabout photo ID (or biometric) for federal elections - just like Mexico
Good question. The answer is "NO." The President is not going to be forced to veto a bunch a bills. He can simply sign them.
Remember the outrage when President Bush proceeded to do exactly what he promised while campaigning?
You’re accepting MRCs assertion that O’Donnell needed schooling. I still see nothing wrong with her question. There’re many more and better media bias examples than this one.
Norah’s knee pads are starting to fray.
LOL
Funny comment. HeHeHe!!!!
We’re entering dark scary territory here. The Republicans are actually going to pass a budget. This is something Democrats are not familiar with. I suggest that they be assigned to special training sessions and get counseling so that they are not upset when it happens.
To everyone who whines that government is broken, this is the way to fix it. Congress needs to vote, vote, and vote some more. It will finally be the case that the Alinskyite prince can not vote “present.”
Republicans, too, must be courageous and send many votes to the floor.
Shameful lies, all of it. Reid may be pissed now because he lost his do nothing job, but he shamed his job as senate leader in order to protect Obama from being seen as the real culprit for the fact that America is in decline.
That means bh0 will have to make a decision to sign or veto the bills that are passed by Republican controlled house and senate. He won’t have Hairy Reid as a roadblock making sure bh0 doesn’t have to make a decision on signing a bill. He will no longer be able to be a pretend president who wants only to “vote present” without making any decision harder than to go golfing in the morning or in the afternoon.
There’s a reason Obama has vetoed only two bills in the last 6 years and that is Harry Reed’s refusal to let any bill Obama doesn’t like get through the Senate.
The vetoes will come “fast and furious” now.
