Republican candidates were heavily favored over their Democratic opponents among full-time workers and most college-educated Americans, a CNN exit poll shows.
During the midterm elections Tuesday, CNN asked voters leaving the voting booth a series of questions, including, Do you work full-time for pay?
About 60 percent responded that they did work full-time for pay. Of those, 54 percent said they had voted for a Republican, while 44 percent stated they voted for a Democrat. Another two percent reported voting for other candidates.
Of the 40 percent who said they did not work full-time for pay, 48 percent said they voted for Democrats. Another 50 reported voting Republican, and two percent voted for other candidates.
Do you work full-time for pay taxes?
There, fixed it.
I’m amazed that college students actually turned on the Democrats.
I guess some college students will not go to the bunker?
It sure is funny how paying taxes influences your voting. If you don’t work and live on handouts you want the gravy train to continue. If you work full time, or you’re in college trying to land a good paying job, you’re well aware of how large an amount is snatched from your paycheck. Work your butt off to have your money snatched and given to others who think opposite to your beliefs, well heck no I won’t vote Dem.
And for the last 44 years working men have hated seeing their paychecks cut to give money to welfare queens.
I saw such a fit at the clock out line back then when a man saw how much was taken out.
Im amazed that college students actually turned on the Democrats...............................................Maybe because they didn’t attend city public schools?
Not sure how CNN defined “college students” but the part timers who are also working likely have different views.
The freeloaders were too fat and lazy to bother to vote.
I’ve been saying this since the last election. Young White people did not vote for Obama in the last election. The majority of them went Republican or Libertarian. I meet a lot of my grandchildren’s friends, all of whom have at least some college under their belts, and I’m telling you, they are not liberals. Oh, most of them would probably allow gay marriage, but they are very wary of encroaching big gov and they all want to wean the physically capable but simply lazy off the government teat.

COLLEGE STUDENTS? Romneys mistake. He could have said to those people in his concession speech: “Good luck finding a job” It would have gone a long way.
Yup - the college students want to become full-time workers (as in 40 hours, not 29).
I agree, my son and daughter, both in college didn't vote for Obama. One is a Republican, the other a Libertarian.
the ones who work full time should have been asked if they work in the private sector or public sector or non-profit sector.
white women went for Abbott over Wendy Davis too
“Full time workers” = Taxed Enough Already (TEA) Party.

Kool-Aid sales are in the toilet, but they’re all the way under, they’re standing on top of Obama’s rating.
This is a misleading headline...
If you read the article, the majority of ALL the categories they present (including part time workers and those that did not attend college) voted Republican.
In other words it was a rout.
In other words, people are starting to wake up?
It’s about dam time! People have been in a slumber for far too long.
