GREENSBORO, N.C. - Another question some of you may have had about Tuesday's election:What role did Libertarian candidate Sean Haugh play in the Senate race results?
The answer may depend on who you ask. UNCG political science professor Thom Little said Haugh didn't make much of an impact. He told our Ben Briscoe the polls he looked at showed Haugh took more votes from Thom Tillis than he did Kay Hagan.
But Elon university professor Kenneth Fernandez said the voters that supported Haugh did play a role in Hagan's loss. In a recent online experiment, researchers found two-thirds of Haugh's votes likely would've gone to Kay Hagan if he wasn't in the race. That margin would have been very close to what Hagan lost by last night.
The Tharheels.
I think so too
Thom Tillis wants to increase legal immigration.
I hope the new speaker in NC can repeal Tillis amnesty bill.
Tillis (the Republican) won N.C. not lost it, you might be thinking of Virginia which will probably have gone the opposite way (unfortunately)!
Thomas must have been a popular name here sometime back??
I never heard of it until Thom McAn Hush Puppies came along in the 1960s.
probably
But my assertion is that people can vote for whom they want to vote, it’s not “stealing” to run as a third party. A candidates job is to attract more votes than the other guy.
Oh, come on. Every Libertarian in NC voted for Haugh plus a bunch of POed Conservatives.
I didn’t hear from any Democrats that jumped all the way over the R to vote for the L.
They’re drunk and reaching for straws.
Could be a Scots thing.
Maybe they actually pronounced “th” way back when.
Beats the hell out of the Tarhagans.
We should advertise the libertarians marijuana platform. That would pull away a lot of Democrats.
We have Bhobs and Jhoes also...
:]
You’re right! I just found some on google.
