White women didn’t just fail Wendy Davis — they failed the rest of Texas, too

I am well aware that Wendy Davis lost the Texas governors race by a wide margin. Its salt in a very personal wound. Her campaign meant a lot to me, and to so many other Texas women thousands of whom stood in line for hours to cast their ballots in support. Greg Abbott won anyway, and he won by a lot. But he didnt win by a lot across the demographic landscape.
I went to the Texas Tribune first for a dissection of the election results, and one piece of information struck me as particularly
wrong. The Tribune cited CNN exit polls to illustrate the landslide, saying Abbott beat Davis by lopsided margins with white voters (72-27), men (65-34) and women (52-47). Davis beat Abbott among Latinos (57-42) and African-Americans (93-7). Last time I checked, though, there were thousands upon thousands of women in Texas considered Latina and African-American what about their votes?

So according to Salon white Texas women are not "authentic" because they did not fall for MSNBC host wanna be Davis. Texas white women suffer from two isms: sexism for not voting for Davis and racism because they did not fall in line as Hispanic and African-American women did. It must really hurt because I remember places like Salon touting Davis says she would breakthrough with white suburban white women. Those white women suffer from false consciousness and need to be educated by the likes of Ms. Kutner.

The next time I hear some moron leftist talk about the GOP being racist, sexist, or whatever, I am going to point out this kind of foolishness to them. The Democrats are forever trapped in the politics of color, class and gender.

Maybe more women in Texas are married than in Manhattan. That seems to have a big role in it.

Voters don’t “fail” politicians. Politicians fail voters. Its not our duty to elect them.

Married vs Single is a huge ideological divider.
Single women are simply voting for a surrogate husband in the gov’t.
