Wisconsin Three-Peat: Why no one can beat Scott Walker.
Slate ^ | 11/6/2014 | Betsy Woodruff

Posted on 11/06/2014 8:54:44 AM PST by SeekAndFind

“First off, I want to thank God.”

Gov. Scott Walker had just come on stage at the State Fair Exposition Center to give his third victory speech in four years, and the supporters mashed up in front of the stage were totally losing it.

“I want to thank God for his abundant grace and mercy,” Walker continued. “Win or lose, it is more than sufficient for each and every one of us.”

The crowd exploded.

It’s nice of Walker to throw in that “win or lose” line, but he didn’t really need it. Walker doesn’t lose. The governor first got elected in 2010 by 5.8 points, won an acrimonious recall election in 2012 by 6.8 points, and looks set to win his first real re-election bid by about 6 points.

Walker’s supporters at the victory party were elated but not surprised. They argued his win was in the cards from jump street, that Democratic nominee Mary Burke’s dependence on out-of-state support backfired, and that Walker’s superhuman ability to stay on message made re-election way easier than it looked to many (including me!). The governor had a straightforward strategy, and he stuck to it.

Wisconsin Republicans expect the final voting data to confirm that Walker won in large part because he took Fox Valley in northeast Wisconsin. That region, which includes Green Bay, is the state’s second largest media market (after Milwaukee and before Madison). Walker visited the area about a dozen times in the past two weeks of the campaign, according to Wisconsin GOP First Vice Chairman Brian Schimming, and he had a robust field operation there.

To be fair, he had a robust field operation everywhere, with 23 offices around the state and an effective grass-roots organization.

Scott Walker is: • Conservative • Likable • A proven winner (won statewide three times in four years in an Obama state)

A fourth point: His entire life has been examined even closer than Sarah Palin's, and they've found nothing.

By examined, I mean by leftists looking for dirt.

Thousands of emails were dumped to the media and lefty oppostion groups (but I repeat myself) several weeks prior to this election and nothing came of it.

He's had two multi-year John Doe investigations crawling through every aspect of his time as County Exec and Governor and they came up with nothing.

They've gone back to kindergarten....nothing.

Walker can carry the base, the Rinos, and the independents. We haven’t seen that since Ronald Reagan. I love Cruz but can he carry more than just the base?

I hope “Luv my Guv” becomes “Luv my Prez”

Scott walker is a LEADER with principles. He actually does what he promises he will do and it works. He doesn’t let the opposition neuter him either. He doesn’t play nice with the dems and unions, he crushes them.

Bush had leadership and principles but let the dems neuter him and didn’t stand up to them.

Mitt had leadership but no principles and tried to play nice with the dems and they crushed him.

I know and agree. However, if the idiots outside Wisconsin want to send money to the idiots inside Wisconsin, let 'em. It's still a capital injection that will spill into local economies even if indirectly.

Jeb Bush’s biggest talent was choosing the right family to be born into... That’s why more people know of him. Where as Scot Walker is the real thing... he’s made it on his own and he’s EARNED every bit of respect he has. Bush glides on Daddy’s name....

While Ted Cruz might be an exception to the rule, I hope that America is done done DONE flirting with Senators as candidates for the Presidency! The executive skill set is just not there.

Many anti-Joni Erbst ads kept saying she is controlled by Koch brothers. It was ridiculous and didn’t work.

You’re welcome!

It never fails - they quote the exact same source - a blog from The Hill from a leftist agitator cum pundit, whose background clearly shows he writes from a cardboard house on public property. But it is the sheer number of the mindless assertions from these same trolls. Go to any Walker posting - it isn’t even clever. Who would read a Daniel Strauss blog that’s a Freeper and NOT know they weren’t quoting a legit source?

Sheesh.
