The commander of US Navy SEALs has issued a stinging rebuke to troops who have broken the elite force's hallowed tradition of secrecy and humility by publishing memoirs and speaking to the media.
Days after the Fox News network announced it would broadcast a documentary with a commando who claims to have shot Osama bin Laden, Rear Admiral Brian Losey, the head of Naval Special Warfare Command, wrote to his troops denouncing anyone who seeks fame or fortune by revealing details of secret missions.
"A critical tenet of our Ethos is 'I do not advertise the nature of my work, nor seek recognition for my actions,'" Losey and the top enlisted sailor, Force Master Chief Michael Magaraci, wrote in the letter,

His oath is to his brothers in arms, the Constitution, and the mission. This has little to do with the CIC.

These men should honor their oath and keep their secrets.

Right you are. These men engage in classified operations, and that doesn’t change when you leave the service or are looking to make a buck.
It was Obama who blabbed that the raid was carried out by SEAL Team 6, and shorty many of those sSpecial Forces died in a helicopter crash. And they betrayed the Pakistani doctor who turned Osama in, and he has been in prison since the raid.
There has never been such a treasonous cabal in our nation’s history.
Yup. That’s my point.
I believe that some of those in SEAL command need to take a good long look at their own ‘ethos’ .
In the Teams , I am sure it’s all good . It’s some of the officers who are career oriented that are the problem . All the rest are expected to follow the rules ( JAG rules) and keep quiet.

Look at the CIC - he makes a buck off everything connected with his service to the country as president. So the people under him see that they have right to make a buck too. Look at the people who run for office or are in office. They have a book to sell to the public. So the seals and other service member are doing the same thing that their politicians are doing - making a buck off their service. Barack Obama authored 2 adult reading books, and at least one childrens book. The Obamas went into the WH with little in money, now he has millions. Public Servant he is not.
