For the first time in modern history, the Obama administration has forced insurance companies to withhold 2015 prices until after the election. So he can shield Democrats.
In the past, new prices were announced 60 days before the first day of the year. Not this year. Warner Todd Huston reported:
Barack Obama is again playing political games with our health insurance industry and has turned in another underhanded move against it by forcing insurance carriers, brokers and agents to withhold their 2015 prices until after the 2014 midterm elections are over all so that the news of higher prices wont hurt Democrats on Election Day.
This means that customers looking to get new insurance or those wishing to scout new policies to see if they can get a better deal are not able to shop for insurance.
Before we get into that, though, millions of new cancellations will be hitting on January 1, 2015. Much of this news has gone under the radar as Democrats and their lapdog media are keeping this as quiet as possible.

” Not to worry chief justice roberts legitimized zerocare and now if the piubies control the senate they will REACH ACROSS THE ISLE and make friends with thier enemies against the American people once again.”
The sleasers have already said they would do this.
Nothing wrong with my vision...I see a giant ASSHAT in OUR White House.
lol me too!
By what authority?
We have our healthcare prices and have had it for a while.
Now the OBAMACARE price sheets might not be available. And who is forced onto Obama care might not be available.
Trying to figure the annual costs that I know we have, our total payments will be $11 - $15 thousand for 2 otherwise healthy 50-somethings.
That’s a hike of $6-10 thousand over the last few years. I’m wracking my brain trying to find a way to earn cash off the books to supplement our income. I’m too old for hooking.
Have to choose by Friday, and I still can’t get straight answers. The other choice is to give up my medication and die. At least I have life insurance. Hmm, that is an actual choice.
This is the kind of thing that happens when governments nationalize health care...
“So if they broke the confidentiality agreement they couldnt be sued since there would be no damages.”
As you know, the honest ones will tend to keep agreements. Only progressives are above laws and contracts - they’re entitled to break them for the “greater good” (e.g., Kaci Hickox).
No brag, just fact. LOL
I think it’s just those of us out on the private market with our 2015 rates already. And of course the exchanges don’t present next-year rates until they live with them, which ain’t happening yet.
11 THOUSAND dollar deductible!? What’s even the point of insurance with a deductible like that? Sheesh!!!
almost $14000 here and that is straight out insurance. No co pays etc included.
Fricken ridiculous. I have never really used my insurance except when I had breast cancer 5 years ago. We are both relatively healthy. I take pain meds for degenerative disc disease but don’t really see my doc except to get them refilled.
Since we are spending that much on insurance I am going to insist that we go for every fricken sniffle from now on. Every test they want to run I’ll say run it. If we are paying that much a year for insurance we are gonna use it. Our doctors are going to get to know us very well.

I wish more people understood self-employment; this is what you have to do when you are self-employed and you are not a millionaire like the media portrays all self-employed/business owners to be. Hope that helps you feel for us self-employed folks out there. Yes, it is basically catastrophic insurance; all I can afford.
Funny - I had the same thought this afternoon about using the overpriced insurance I’m now paying for.
Before, I was very judicious with doctor visits - last
time I went for anything sick related was in 09 when my appendix came out.
Went for a back check a few weeks ago to make sure a bad pain wasn’t anything worse than sciatica. It’s sciatica.
Other than the RX’s related to my endo (whom I see 1-2x a year) I try to not go to any other appointment because I didn’t want to be an insurance hog; aye?
Husband goes once a year for a check up.
Now? We’re paying this much? They’re making a 50%+ profit on my policy? Oh, bring it, baby. I will use up every dime and then some. I might even get some free birth control but try to get preggers for a nice case of high risk pregnancy.
God Almighty if we win the six seats tonight the SOB’s better start a repeal process.
Today I thought of hiring myself out for an occasional babysitter - $10 an hour for 1-2 kids, $20 for 3-4? Not a regular gig, just a real, old-fashioned sitter.
In March of 2009 I was cut from my job at a radio station and could not get an interview - let alone a job. Working since I was 14 and NEVER had trouble finding work I was shut out of the market. Yes I took 2 years of unemployment.
3 years ago I was hired in my village hall as PT Dep Treasurer and Clerk. I work 6 hours a week. I’ve got to find something to do.
And hubby? Wobbly CSC is his employer. They lost the gov’t contract they work on and have 18 months to hand it off to the next guys.
Terrified of getting laid off because we could not afford COBRA rates, and IF we applied for a private plan we’d get shoved into Medicaid for low income, and we’re old enough to have our assets attached for recovery if this happened - house, savings, whatever else they take from you in that case.
And it’s been said that they can claim whatever they want, even if you didn’t use services.
So, yeah... we win the 6 tonight they better work on repeal, impeachment, criminal charges - anything and everything to reverse the damage.
See ya at the doctor’s office! :)
Lol. So sorry about your employment situation. We retired early....both young retirees. Hubby at 53 and me at 57. We actually did everything you are supposed to. Our house is darn near paid for, we could actually pay it off but need every darn tax break we can get. I save up and pay cash for our cars. We don’t really have any bills other than the house payment and the everyday stuff like utilities and food so insurance is now our Second largest budget item. Pitiful.
You have more faith in the Republicans than I do. I don’t expect much to change.
Are we now living under a dictatorship?
Even if they do wait to release the numbers-People are going to be ticked off when they find out how bad this is going to be.
