THE FAIR TAX WOULD BE THE BIGGEST TRANSFER OF POWER FROM DC BACK TO THE PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY'S HISTORY
A flat tax is still an income tax, and would leave the IRS in place.
It punishes productivity, and fails to capture any revenue from the illegal aliens and illegal activities like drugs and prostitution because most of them don't report their income, but they buy stuff, so with the Fair Tax, they would start paying a share.
The IRS tried to take out the Tea Party, it would be sweet vengeance for the Tea Party to take out the IRS.
The IRS terrorizes Americans with the threat and expense of an audit.
And now we are supposed to trust this monstrous agency with our lives and health?
Say no to terrorism - abolish the IRS.
Every discussion should point out that now is the time for the Fair Tax!!
I can’t agree with Ted Cruz on this.
We need lower tax rates, flatten it out.
The FAIR tax is over-complicated, doesn’t reduce rates and the “prebate” is the most retarded thing ever devised.
Can we please get rid of the IRS once and for all.....just abolish it..... that will save billions in and of it self.
With you. A national sales tax will ultimately hurt those that can least afford to BE taxed.
We all need equal amounts of bread, milk, etc... The prebate not withstanding, those things cost more as a percentage of income for lower income households than they do for wealthier families. If anything, it’s not fair.
Lower all income tax rates - dramatically. Take away all deductions (even on the corporate side) With all that wrangling gone, the IRS can be cut by 2/3rds at least. More money is spent on enforcing the law. If they made it simple, that would save billions alone.
FLAT TAX!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not “FAIR” Tax- with its pre-bates and guaranteed vote buying.
Just take to any “fair” tax zealot and ask them to try to explain the “tax-inclusive” rate and listen to them try and justify it.. You will realize it is a liberal dream
The current tax code is controlled by the fat, slovenly, incompetent leeches that currently control the country. They can pass whatever taxes they desire and the IRS will enforce it. The leeches then use the code and the money to buy themselves votes from the welfare, entitlement and humanist crowd so that said leeches can continue to stay in a job where they don't have to work, don't have to think, and simply get a paycheck in spite of the fact they're too stupid to work anywhere else.
You think they're ever going to close down their gravy train?

If you’re going to post that Cruz supports something you better include a link.
I completely agree.
From the article:
A flat tax is still an income tax, and would leave the IRS in place.
If there are no deductions, credits, write-offs, or exceptions leaving the IRS in place wouldn't matter because they would be stripped of virtually all their power, at least insofar as personal income is concerned — their power comes from their ability to interpret the hideously complex mass we call the tax code and a flat rate with no write-offs or deductions would eliminate that.
Some pretty big and invasive agency would be needed to process and enforce the FAIR tax regime too. How about a plan that does not continue to pay “rebates” to those who paid no taxes?
The Fairy tax is nothing but a joke, totally unworkable.
if it doesn’t CUT TAXES, make taxes less complicated, and it is “revenue neutral” and keeps taking from some taxpayers and giving it to non-tax payers...
what is the point??
I’m all for the Simple Tax. You pay Uncle Sam 10% of what you make. The other 10% goes to the states and municipalities. Overall tax burden for all citizens is 20% max.
Prebate not withstanding (it’s the only detractor, IMHO):
FAIR, not flat. The latter does not ensure everyone pays ‘their fair share’; the former is the only voluntary payment system.
Flat would still require an IRS, fair would be a ‘tiered’ payment system...user -> biz -> State -> Fed. and thus, no need for ‘tracking’.
Fair would also encourage thrift and ‘home grown’ (baking, sewing, trade, barter, etc. to reduce taxes even farther)
We need to STARVE the beast, not find alternatives to feed. Sad that is even talk about ‘the poor poor’...when they come out ahead of those working 40hrs.+/wk (IE: Leave charity up to those whom voluntary do so, not by the power of the gun of gov’t)
This is the link - I don’t know why they aren’t posting as links today:

now it seems to ge posting as a link...
The point of the Fairy tax is for businesses to never pay taxes again, and those with a business tax ID number would pay very little either.
Only those that draw a paycheck would pay taxes, and those with money in the bank would be taxed twice.
I think Bortz dreamed this up while he was stoned on something.
Americans love their chains and beg for the bridle.
The fair tax would be much better than flat tax.
Most are worried about cost of goods increasing but fail to realize the current cost has business taxes and the income taxes of employees of that business buried in the price.
The price of goods would go through a period of adjustment but would probably settle out pretty close to where they are now.
But government’s ability to choose winners and losers would be stopped.
I guess I can help with that:
Ted Cruz said the Fair Tax is “ideal”.
