U.S. Marine veteran Andrew Tahmooressi has been released from a Mexican jail, where he had languished for months on weapons charges after crossing the border with three guns in his car earlier this year. Tahmooressi has long maintained his innocence, saying that he made a wrong turn at the Mexican border and was unable to return to the U.S. upon realizing his mistake. His release became a cause célèbre for conservatives nationwide.
The San Diego Union-Tribune notes that Tahmooressi's legal strategy shifted in recent weeks: "He initially pressed for dismissal of the case on the grounds that his clients rights were allegedly violated when he was held at the El Chaparral Port of Entry for hours without the presence of an attorney or a translator....But in recent weeks, the attorney focused on Tahmooressis PTSD in an attempt to win him a humanitarian release."

Thank you Fernando@fernandobenitez.net
More details:
‘The judge said in the order that the case was dismissed and that Tahmooressi was granted “absolute freedom.” He ordered the release on humanitarian grounds without making a decision on Tahmooressi’s guilt or innocence.
It is with an overwhelming and humbling feeling of relief that we confirm that Andrew was released today after spending 214 days in a Mexican prison,” Tahmooressi’s family said in a statement.
Tahmooressi is out of prison and set to return to Florida on Friday night accompanied accompanied by his mother and former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson on a private flight arranged by Richardsons Foundation for Global Engagement. Richardson had worked behind the scenes to win Tahmooressi’s freedom.’
Please see post #45. Sounds VERY encouraging.
A foreigner broke their laws, and they put him in jail. A foreigner breaks US laws, and nothing is done.
Now which one is a lawless cesspool?
While Barry and countless Dem toadies have been working tirelessly to free the Ebola Nurse from her comfortable home to go shopping, there has been no effort to help get this guy out of prison for making a traffic error. One hopes that voters will register their opinion on this at the ballot box.
Finally. Good news!
Thank GOD.
Posted this on another thread; fits here too:
I said on a Freeper thread quite a while ago that he would be released right before the mid-term elections so that Obama can take credit for it. In fact, I am sure Obama told the Mexican President to hold our Marine until right before the midterm elections and then to release him right before the election day weekend, which is exactly what happened. Our October surprise. Im so happy for our Marine and I hate our conniving, despicable President and the Mexican President for going along with Obama. A pox on both their houses.
And if he is invited; hopefully he will quietly decline.
Through his lawyer, of course.
Who would want to go to that shithole? I would never want to step foot in the place ever again.
I agree.
No thanks to Captain Midnight and his band of criminals.
He’s busy sending grenades to Mexico to resupply the cartels.
I still believe that the judge and prosecutor were waiting for a bribe and only released him when it became clear no bribe was coming.
I think he is a reservist.
