Convicted child rapist and pedophile Roman Polanski found himself once again briefly detained by authorities in Poland this week. And yet again, he was released despite requests from the United States to hold him for extradition. But before getting to the details, its worth pausing for a moment to note how CNN chose to describe the situation.
Famed film director Roman Polanski, wanted in the United States for having sex with a minor in the 1970s, was questioned this week by Polish authorities but allowed to leave after the interview.
Yes, I suppose you could choose to say that he was wanted for having sex with a minor. Or, another way you might put it would be to say that Polanski is an escaped fugitive from justice who plead guilty and was convicted of raping and sodomizing a child after drugging her. But I suppose Im just quibbling over semantics here

Polanski is an escaped fugitive from justice who plead guilty and was convicted of raping and sodomizing a child after drugging her And will die of old age, never being brought to justice for his reprehensible crimes.

i agree! But I also consider what happened got him. Married to the most beautiful woman in the world, who was killed by Manson’s followers. He’s been twisted horribly. I can’t forgive him his crimes, but I can’t forgive what he suffered either. Sad case all around.
his brain has been fried.

After the way Obama has treated the Poles I almost don’t blame them. Almost.

Sadly, I fear that at the rate our society is embracing deviant behavior — it won’t be long before Polanski is regarded by as having simply been “ahead of his time”

Not that I think that you are trying to excuse his behavior because of what he went through, I'm definitely not implying that. Bad things like that happen to people every day in our country and the great majority go on to live fairly normal lives and never drug and rape 13 year old girls.

Yeah. I agree. But I think his brain was a fried. Doesn’t excuse anything else,,,, but what an experience to go go through.

I have just returned from Poland. Very few Poles know what RP did. He is a leftist hollywood type so is above the law. After i educated my friends they wondered why he wasn’t in jail and how he got away with his drugging and raping a child.

At least Whoopie says it wasn’t rape rape!
