With a grand jury decision and a local election looming, the Rev. Al Sharpton returned to St. Louis on Friday to renew calls for the federal prosecution of a white police officer who shot and killed an unarmed black 18-year-old in the nearby suburb of Ferguson.
"The grand jury is tainted. The confidence of the family has been shattered," Sharpton said after meeting briefly with Brown's parents and local activists at a breakfast rally before returning to New York. "We should turn this over to the federal government."
Jackson, meanwhile, criticized Attorney General Eric Holder's recent call for "wholesale change" in the department.
"I think he's about to leave office and needs to say he accomplished something in Ferguson," Jackson said of Holder.

Of what? Brown is dead. You can’t prosecute the guy any longer.
outside of BHO and Holder does anyone care what Sharpton thinks?
Somebody has a bad case of the Gibs.
Maybe Sharpton, but IMHO he just like to hear the sound of his voice and the clink of cash coming in that supports his life style.
He MUST foment hatred, overt racism and paranoia in the black community. It is the only currency he has to invest in maintaining his relevancy.
He has so much blood on his hands. How can anyone of reason take him seriously?
I am consistently shocked that, after the Tawana Brawley case, that Sharpton has any credibility on any subject. The media have anointed him as some honorable spokesman for black America. Why is this???
LOL!!
Sorry to get in your way, Al
But “Resist, we much...” ;-)
I wish Al Sharpton would read the bible. I would hope that he would understand the words of Jesus. He seems to be a spokesperson for Satan right now
It wouldn't be unprecedented, Queen Esther had the ten sons of Haman hanged after they had already been slain.
Possible police brutality issues concerning the Ferguson issue aside, given that the states have never amended the Constitution to protect citizens from police brutality, the federal government has no enumerated protection to apply to the states via the 14th Amendment to justify any official action on this issue imo.
Noting that Sharpton is undoubtedly very much aware that mid-term elections are less than a week away, am I overlooking anything?
Shirley you jest. The "reverend" Al was "ordained" when he was ten years old.
I call for a group of nice well-behaved brothers and sisters to come out to tell Sharpton to take a hike. In any lingo would be appreciated; you’ll have my support.
Alphonse wants a good, old-fashioned lynching.
Now that’s what I call going above and beyond the call of duty. LOL
I agree. Al should be prosecuted for inciting riots. Not sure that’s Federal though.
Obviously Al never read the bible or accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior
