“The court order, issued late Thursday, leaves room for Hickox to go outside but instructs her to stay away from public transit and workplaces, and not to leave the town of Fort Kent, where she has mostly been holed up in a house, without consulting with public health authorities.”
ANd if she doesn’t comply, then what?................they gonna use harsh words?

Worst case hypothetical situation:
Some self-centered jerk who's been exposed to Ebola dies of something else, maybe flu or something. Causes a panic because nobody believes the feds anymore.
What is this woman thinking?

Maybe she needs her RN license revoked for awhile.
Did she get paid for her ebola care in Ebola Land?
If so how much?
My wife an RN is hearing scuttlebutt talk of very high pay for an RN or MD to take a 4 week tour in Ebola land.

AFAIK, she doesn’t have an RN. She’s a trainee.

Is her BF staying three feet away from her? She’s living in his house as I understand things.
I wonder if he’s keeping his distance, if you get my meaning. Or if she wants a hug and goes ballistic if he backs away????

One look at those eyes should be enough incentive to back away...

Should have made it ten feet and issued calibrated poles to townspeople.

I bet she’s one of these “Well, if I have Ebola, you should get it too!” domineering witches

My understanding is that she is an RN, received her degree for Univ of Texas at Arlington. She’s also a recent “graduate” from a CDC program, and is now an EIS officer, which is basically a statistician.

In that case, that takes sharing to a whole other level, doesn’t it?
But seriously, in such a case, she is putting another person at risk, in spite of their trying to quarantine her.

Self quarantine never made a whole lot of sense to me. You are either in quarantine or you're not. If she had AIDs what would be the buffer zone? The CDC has been politicized since at least the 1980’s with the advent of AIDs. All communicable deadly diseases should incorporate some sort of travel restriction and quarantine. This nurse just erased any sort of argument the CDC and the administration had for allowing commercial travel to West Africa. We do not have the authority to monitor suspected Ebola carriers and we cannot quarantine them. The only thing we can do is limit travel.
