Apparently a construction accident of some sort, they were doing a rebuild on the floor that caught fire.
From their (translated) website:
“With its 2 hectare park, the Maison de la Radio is the largest building ever built in France. A crown 500 feet in circumference and a central tower 68 meters high in 1963 by Henry Bernard gathered there until January 1975 Paris ORTF services of the former.”
Interesting that if this is properly translated, that this is the “largest building ever built in France”.
If it is the largest building in France, it’s bound to have some pretty serious security. And being in media, they would have been aware of any chatter out there threatening it. And yet this happened anyway...
