Maybe now the innocent citizens in the area can get there rights back.

Some of them, anyway.

He was planning this for months...according to what they pulled from his computer, and that he had hatred for Police in general.

This is good news. I use to work in the Poconos so I’m quite familiar with the area. Most of that area is resort and woods...peppered stores throughout here and there. So the guy had lots of room to roam about for the most part.

The turkey is a coward

Yeah, that’s why he’s got a split nose when he surrendered...”

The issue isn’t if he is a coward or the bravest guys since the Founders. That is not relevant.
What is relevant is that he is a criminal, and that society must deal with him as such. But this idiotic nonsense of ‘just shoot him’ destroys any moral authority to condemn the guy. We are either a nation of laws and due process, or he is right in what he did.
So, do we through out everything we stand for just to get quick revenge, and usher in a new age of tyranny? Or do we do it the proper way and end this nonsense calls for cops to just shoot people out of hand?

The target with the young pregnant woman always blows my mind.

If a King's Man could think, would it cross his mind that "I'm an American, and why is a young pregnant woman so mad that she's pointing a gun at me?", instead of THREAT SQUIRREL! PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW 'MERIKA.

I'm just sayin'.

Read that statement, jaz, and understand what Free Republic is all about.

The man is not a coward. Lord only knows his motivation, but cowardice, it was not.

The turkey is a coward because he ambushed two state troopers, killed one and severely wounded the other, him having a bloodied nose has nothing to do with it.

If LF would have thought about my original post s/he would realize I didn’t call for the LEOs to murder him, I posted it’s a shame he wasn’t carried out feet first and if he wasn’t a coward that would have been the outcome.

The shame is that it will cost taxpayers millions over the coming years to prosecute, convict, go through the appeals and finally either execute the coward or pay for his keep in a prison for the remainder of his sorry life.

I dunno. I wouldn't call a guy willing to take on hundreds of paramilitary police a "coward".

The armed Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto were "cowards", too - remember? LOL! :)

So sorry that moral values have a price tag attached. Values are rarely cheep, which is why so many no long have any values worth even noting.
While I’ll agree with the issue that society is far to generous with the court processes of such criminals, that is all I can agree with. Personally, I like Iraq’s way of dealing with Saddam. Trial, quick appeal, executed before new year. But the process was not ignored, and was fair. In the end, it was a justice system.

But no matter how onerous the process is, it can’t be ignored. Short of this event never even happening, this is the best possible result. Justice handled properly, with him having to answer for what he did and allowed to defend himself if he can. And then dealt with as he deserves.

You know, it's interesting that he was caught on a tip and hiding in a hangar of all places instead of being taken a righteous stalk in the woods. I think he just got tired of living off the land and probably with the weather & temps as fall and winter came on. He probably made the call himself. Eric Rudolph ran the gubmint ragged for what? At least 6 months until they caught him in a town, dumpster diving for dinner.

I can't express how supportive the people in that area were to those us working this ongoing operation. Signs up all over the place. People dropping off food at the command posts, Red Cross volunteers, were all awesome.

Very happy this happened in time for the area kids to go trick or treating, as well. It's a good way for some sense of normalcy to return to the area,
