It is important to peruse that list and pick out those categories that the republican establishment in lockstep with the chamber of commerce is silently supporting.

Okay. Are you suggesting, dear brother in Christ, that the next election is all about some kind of Christian scourging of the GOP? Like the last election was all about preventing a person who held horrendous spiritual views from being elected POTUS, notwithstanding that on any objective view, he was by far "the lesser evil" in terms of the preservation of the liberty interests of the American people and the communities they form?

I bought a book today — Benjamin Carson's America the Beautiful — which I have only read so far as the endorsements and the Table of Contents. I am avid to read further.

One of the endorsements was from Franklin Graham, and I thought it wonderfully judicious and prudential:

Dr. Ben Carson has turned a spotlight on an unstable society that seeks to destroy the foundation upon which America was built. He has peered into the microscope lens that reveals the deception of those trying to rewrite the history of our country. He stirs up our national pride with historical accounts that reveal why America has been blessed of God and how close we are to the brink of losing freedoms won long ago through sacrifice and bloodshed. The heart of this nation has been severed from the lifeline of God's truth.

Which instantly led me to the question: Why did so many Christians, really, sit out the Presidential Election of 2012, or give their precious vote to a guaranteed loser?

To my way of thinking, certainly these people did nothing to progress the well-being of a nation "blessed by God." What they inadvertently did, however, was to help return an unfit, unqualified, and ideologically deranged person to the office of POTUS.

And now, we get to suffer under his final two years in office, and watch him manipulate a Lame-Duck Congress into hewing to his unilateral mandates.

I hold to the view that all acts of an impeached president are, under our Constitution, null and void as to law.

But Obama is DEFYING us to impeach him. At which point, he thinks he can open the very gates of Hell against American society.

All this "drama" could have been obviated, two years ago....

Your post starts out with two extreme fallacies, one implied, the other explicit:

1. Implied in your post is that there was some type of sizable minority of conservatives that simply because Mitt Romney is a Mormon we could not vote for him. However, as has been posted ad-nauseum here on FreeRepublic, Mitt Romney was and is a Progressive Liberal, and for that reason, more than because his particular religion is a cult, he was rejected by many conservatives.
2. You've stated "notwithstanding that on any objective view, he was by far "the lesser evil" in terms of the preservation of the liberty interests of the American people and the communities they form".

How can this be so when Mitt Romney either supported or supports the following:

  a.) Abortion
  b.) Gay Adoption
c.) Gays in the Boy Scouts
  d.) Gays in the Military
e.) Global Warming Scam, including his own Carbon Trading Scheme
f.) His own form of Socialized Medicine
g.) Taxing everything in site as Governor of MA.
  g.) Banning "Assault Weapons"

Each of these policy positions is either a direct or carries with it an indirect attack on personal liberties by maintain government agencies/functions that fall outside the original intent of the founders of this great country.

There is a lot to address here.......

First, I’ll reply that to end much of the disgust and misery ad naseum the Free Republic thought should encompass the concept of the GOPc. That is a concept to relieve the hatred for the GOPe. The GOPc, the conservative wing of the Republican party, is the onlv conduit for achieving the conservative political agenda.

Then there is Dr Carson.....

First, there is a TV movie “Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story “ It is a fantastic movie and Even if you read the book it is worth finding and watching.

I looked for my old post but couldn’t find it. My mind is not a clear on the subject as it was the day after I attended a Ben Carson speech.

It was held at the employee center auditorium of Eastman Chemical here in Kingsport. That is almost earth shaking. Eastman doesn’t make overt political action. The news paper played up Dr Carson’s visit to the middle school having the most black students for Black History month. I was prepared to hear a black history speech from the man I had been following on Cavuto and liked what I saw.

I was very surprised when he came out swinging........ pure Carson politics. The stage was set with a podium in the center. Dr Carson took the mike from the stand and walked to the front of the stage. His method was to walk slowly across the stage from one side to the other continuously delivering his points in an extremely articulate manner. All the while he maintained eye contact with his audience. He never stuttered, he never said uh or you know or such. He spoke very deliberately and quietly. No oratorical crescendos, just pure reason, deliberately and strongly driving home his points. Mostly and very pointedly, no teleprompter.

At times he would go to the podium, the front of the podium and lean against it, casually, no formal airs. He was just talking to us. No pretension.

This was from a brilliant brain surgeon that is clearly superior intellectually to almost everybody. The obvious unspoken message was the comparison to the Black Messiah.

I have posted several times that the man is supremely smooth. His words are a lethal stiletto. He reaches back into his youth or his college days to paint a picture of adverse circumstance or treatment. He stabs the opponent with the stiletto that is so sharp the victim doesn’t even feel it go in.... then he brilliantly twists the blade in a mortal political statement. It is a wonderfully acceptable technique.

He told about life in the projects of Detroit. He had to be careful when eating raisin bran to be sure the brown things were raisins, not roaches. Then he told us that his colleagues on the board of Kellogg might not like him telling that story. He did not boast his high corporate position on the Kellogg board of directors., he juxtaposed it with his life.

People came from miles away. We knew that to get a good seat we should go early. We went an hour and a half early. The auditorium was already 3/4 full. It was beyond standing room only. Eastman uses the building fortraining. They opened all the class rooms and piped in the event to the overflow.

This was for our city a singular event. Eastman just doesn’t do things political. A VP knew Dr Carson personally and was instrumental in bringing him. To me, it means there are some corporations sick and tired of Obama and see Dr Carson as a man with solid conservative values that has the knowledge and prestige and contacts to undo and then rebuild our health care system. He has served in various capacities in high positions and has inside knowledge and experience that Barack can only dream about. He has corporate backing and that means money.

Here on Free Republic he has already been declared to be lacking the Christ Like conservative purity many demand. That is supreme foolishness.

It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to be president, but if one volunteers......We should take him up on it.

Hi, Betty. No, I was more focused on the title of this article and its basic theme. Obama has a secret radical agenda, but conservatives should not necessarily expect the republican party to oppose the major portions of it. In fact, the lame duck session is probably the most dangerous period in recent memory. That congress with both outgoing democrats and republicans still able to make law for the nation might just let Obama move ahead unimpeded or unquestioned on their areas of agreement: immigration, obamacare, and environment. So, while I do think that God's judgment is on this land, I wasn't addressing that in my response to you. There is a bright side to that: Hebrews 12: For whom the Lord loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.”[a] 7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? 8 But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. 9 Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? 10 For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. 11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Dr. Ben Carson gives us an alternative to the nightmare land of the 0bamatrons.

Have we the sense to seize it? Time will tell.
