NBC News/Marist Polls Show Tight Contests in Key States BY MARK MURRAY
Control of the U.S. Senate is coming down to the wire, with Democrats and Republicans locked in tight races in the key contests that will determine the majority in that chamber of Congress, according to six new NBC News/Marist polls.
The momentum in these races, however, has swung mostly in the Republican Partys direction, giving the GOP a clear path to winning the majority.
In Colorados Senate contest, Republican challenger Cory Gardner holds a one-point lead among likely voters over incumbent Sen. Mark Udall, D-Colo., 46 percent to 45 percent. Back in Septembers NBC/Marist poll, Udall was ahead by six points, 48 percent to 42 percent.
In Iowa, Republican Joni Ernst edges Democrat Bruce Braley by three points, 49 percent to 46 percent. Earlier this month, Ernsts lead was two points, 46 percent to 44 percent.
In Kansas, independent Greg Orman has a one-point advantage over Republican Sen. Pat Roberts, 45 percent to 44 percent down from Ormans 10-point lead earlier this month in the NBC/Marist poll.
In Arkansas, Republican challenger Tom Cotton gets the support of 45 percent of likely voters, versus incumbent Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark., at 43 percent. In September, Cottons lead was five points.
And in North Carolina, incumbent Sen. Kay Hagan, D-N.C., and GOP opponent Thom Tillis are tied at 43 percent each. Thats down from Hagans four-point lead earlier this month. Libertarian Sean Haugh gets 7 percent of the vote.

This is also an NBC/Marist poll.
Actually the trends in this poll compared to the last NBC poll of these states show significant movement.
The pollsters are imputing a “margin of fraud” into the calculations.
And don’t forget the after election Obamacare rate increase. No one is mentioning that. Maybe those in key races should.
Don’t believe Marxist polls.
Do you when I thought the tide had turned? Chick Fil-A. I believed that was obola's death knell. But somehow, Obola ended up winning. I was always skeptical before, but I'll never believe in our system again..
I will keep voting but it won’t surprise me if Republicans don’t take the Senate and never win the presidency again. Something stinks.
I believe it’s because many conservatives are tired of being used and abused by the republican party. They don’t really see any difference when the gop is in charge. Remember when they won the house, the senate and the presidency in 2000. Then they let the democrats run all over them.
Because it's a Marist poll.
I thought the death knell was the “you didn’t build that” speech at Roanoke.
pleeeze....why hasn’t the GOPe run away with it?? 1) they fight like little girls 2) they’ve pissed off their base 3) the two leaders McConnell/Boehner, are both morons...
I have come to not trust the election day poll. This NBC poll is a preemptive way of saying, "See, we told you so" when dubious election results are announced.
Its the Free Stuff and government dependency kicking in.
You’d think that ‘If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon’ would have finished him off.
Have they told us any positive change that would happen if they were in DC?
Please remember that this is how they set up the cheat factor.
They start claiming the races are neck and neck right before the election.
Then they cheat and you won’t know it and be able to question how the win ended up in the commie category.
After all, the polls said it was all tightening up.
You got it. Over 50% of the voters are takers. It is only going to get worse. Those of us who work are becoming slaves, yes slaves, to 50+% of the voters who are takers and the corrupt politicians in DC. It is only going to get worse as the percentage grows above 50%. Amnesty will devastate those of us who work and try to improve our lives. We will have to become takers to survive or end up in prison.
Exactly, they did that in 2012 too in key states.
